  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) brushed off attacks from former President Trump while taking questions at a high school on Tuesday, saying the criticism he has received from the former president is “just noise.”

“I think what you learn is, all that’s just noise, and really what matters is, are you leading, are you getting in front of issues, are you delivering results for people and are you standing up for folks?” he said. “And if you do that, then none of that stuff matters.”


He then went on to say...
“go check out the scoreboard from last Tuesday night.”

I don't think calling people you disagree with "pigs" is particularly Christian.

And that's why some of us opposed Trump. Because chaos is not something Christians should ever befriend, and emnity is not something one should relish. As St. Paul said, "If it is possible, as much as you are allowed, live in peace with everyone". (Rom 12:18).

Don't have time to attack (no offense to anyone here just saying in gen) someone (Dem/Rep) personally because I don't agree with their politics. I just pray someone good great will come also from the left. If its only Biden.. the left have no chance.. unless they..

You have a highly polemical worldview, but that's typical for American fundamentalists. Needless to say, your views about Democrats are very much off the mark and dehumanizing. But when people assume they and their group alone are right, and if you don't agree with them, they are an enemy, that's what tends to happen. That's why I'm not a fundamentalist.

DeSantis has obviously decided that Trump is now irrelevant. Or worse, he is now a liability on the stump. DeSantis is also a relatively young man. He thinks he can beat Trump, the now three times loser, now in his dotage.
