"Nutcase" seems to indicate some kind of mental illness.

I think its a mistake to automatically attribute horrid actions to mental illness. In fact I think most violent white supremacist in US history werent mentally ill at all. They were just "regular" people who'd steeped too long in an immoral ideology. Labelling them as nutcases takes the pressure off those who promote this ideology.

That’s true, but I very much doubt it’s the case here. His beliefs were false, as with all fascists, but one does not need to be insane to believe false things. In fact, one need not even be stupid. Plenty of highly intelligent people believe false things.

No, he had a worldview which he arrived at through his own line of reasoning, and followed it to its natural conclusion.

The enemy here isn’t “nutjobs”. It’s the fascist white nationalist worldview, and the people who propagate it, enable it, and engage in apologetics for it.

My husband watched the video and researched this and said this guy was a flat out racist. He patterned everything after the Christchurch Mosque shooting, and had the names of the victims in Wisconsin (where that black guy mowed people down) on the side of his vehicle.

He's just another person who lost his mind.. DH said this guy is as cold blooded as they come. (Dead inside type cold)
