As posted earlier Jesus gives us His spoken Word that is recorded in the written Word of God that we are to believe and follow. Therefore the scriptures are the only rule of faith and there is no faith or salvation outside of the scriptures..
My Thread didn't say that it says the church had gnostic text in the scriptures which was used to decieve high amounts of christians during the time of the commission in the middle east. Christ revelation to saints helped them distinguish the heresies from the truth. Friend there is a big history before the bible was compiled yk that right?

You seem to create and conclusion from a premise with one verse as an argument that later been already been responded to. Just an conjecture my friend.
I explicity agreed that faith comes from Gods Word but that would be Christ's word not explicitly the bible. I say Christ's words entirely friend which I follow as my view hes the Word of God the bible is the writing from the word. You cannot have faith without believing Christ as Lord thats what John 14 speaks about.

There is the problem. Your trying to separate God from His Word. That is not biblical. God is not separate from His Word. They are Gods' Words and we should believe and follow them because without faith in God's Word what is it you actually believe in? It is the scriptures that lead us to Christ and it is His Spirit that changes our hearts as we believe what Gods' Word says. Therefore the scriptures are the only rule as to what faith is that we are to believe and follow. There is no faith outside of God's Word without knowing what Gods' Word says.

Well I am reading exactly what your saying and have responded to your posts accordingly. Your trying to make an argument that faith does not come from the scriptures by trying to separate God from his Word. As shown from my posts to you I do not believe this is biblical or supported in the scriptures. So we may have to agree to disagree here because according to God's Word it is the scriptures that testify of Jesus and lead us to Christ that we might be forgiven through faith. Therefore the scriptures for me are the only rule of faith from what I read in the bible. Of course you are free to believe as you wish that was never in contention and is between you and God.

Not at all. All faith comes by Gods Word according to Romans 10:17 we only know God's Word today through the scriptures. I have never argued anything differently here.
Scripture is the spoken recorded written Word of God. The only reason you know about Abraham is because of scripture. Jesus as the living Word of God has given us His spoken and recorded written Word of God.
