Oh wow. I nominate you for official CF sommelier.
I’m not there yet. We should have a thread with recommendations and faves.

Oh wow. I nominate you for official CF sommelier.
I worked at a wine shop.
I come from a family that have been growing wine for centuries in the region of Baden in Germany.
But for a long time i did not know much about the wines of the world - only about the work in the vinyards. It was not before the age of 24 that I gradually knew more about other wines.
Btw: Myself I am not a wine grower, but many of my relatives are.
I worked at a wine shop.

That’s wonderful! I want the same. A small winery. Do you still work there?

I buy what I like and worry less about pairings.
So you will know about the wines of the world.
No, as I said, I am not a wine grower any more.
I just enjoy drinking wine, but I have no vinyard of my own.
The wines that are grown by my relatives are mostly:
Riesling, Pinot noir (Spätburgunder), Müller-Thurgau (Rivaner), Pinot blanc (Weißburgunder) and Regent, a relatively new grape variety.
This is me as well.
I only like the one wine, everything else is way too bitter for me. So, that is what I buy because it's the only one that I like.
Do you prefer something sweeter?
Much sweeter, yes. That is why I like Roscato as it's very very sweet and reminds me of a wine cooler. Oh, and I like Verdi Spumante which is very cheap... lol.
Ice wine, Tokai, Sauternes, Demi-sec and Doux champagnes, red vermouth, fruit liqueurs (Mathilde is good).
Thank you for the suggestions. I am actually happy with what I like and even though I have those favorites, I drink alcohol maybe twice to three times a year. I have had wine coolers in my fridge for three months now and haven't touched one.
Right now I cannot drink alcohol even if I wanted to. Have to have surgery on Thursday to have my gall bladder removed and alcohol is on the no consumption list for a little while.
Marrowbone wine.
So yummy!!!
I know neither - can you explain?
