I'd gladly swap, I prefer the cold. It was fairly cold here up until a week ago. Usually though once it kicks in the summer weather here is nice, rather than stifling.
Where I used to live in the high desert, it was blast furnace hot all through the summer.

The main reason I eat spicy food is because I was born without a sense of smell. Which I've read smell is very important when it comes to the sensation of "tasting" food. So I enjoy something spicy so I can get more of an illusion of flavor. Not that I cannot taste things, but it probably dull compared to the average person who can smell.

That makes total sense. I also read that the spicy quality is supposed to enhance the endorphins or something along those lines.

Spices or sauces.. but sauces can rank up the calorie amount of a meal very quickly. As someone who has never smelled before I cannot compare.. but I have read articles from people who could once smell but lost it later in life. They describe the loss being more traumatic and depressing than they could ever imagine. One said all wine and alcohol pretty much tasted the same.. which is true for me lol.
I used to really hate hot sauce.. but I've since learned to appreciate it. Over the past year or two my tolerance has steadily risen. Habanero and whatnot does not really do much for me anymore. Right now I'm onto Ghost Pepper.. although the ghost pepper sauce I have is somewhat watered down.. worse than the Habanero.. but even that is starting to taste tame to me.
I have no idea what kind of pepper my co-worker gave me. It was home grown.. although my tongue wasn't burning.. it was my throat. Would have been a lot more tolerable if I wasn't wearing a mask.

Yeah my mom was kind of depressed when she got Covid. For a while she lost her sense of smell and taste. Luckily it came back, I was feeling really bad for her and sort of guilty for enjoying the flavor of food.
I've never heard of someone's throat burning from food. Sounds miserable, especially with the mask.

I think I might be about due for a new pair of glasses. Fine print is becoming difficult to read.

Here on the peninsula it only got to a mere 101. I lived in Las Vegas for many years where 105-110 is the summer average, but at least every home there has air conditioning.

I go by regular temperature. I don't even look at the humidex.
Here in the Northwest, everyone had their eyes glued on the temperature, cause it was HOT!!!

Stared death in the face, again, was walking across a railway crossing,
usually I am very careful but this morning my thoughts were, have no idea.
Was looking down at the time when I looked up was a train going fast and about 50 meters from me, I did not freeze, I was pulled back.
