The media did not care about Trump's golf playing so much as the former one-term president made it a big deal when Obama played golf. The "lots of us" should have but the "shhhhh" on the media and other lefts talking heads then because the complaining was almost comical. I never complained about Obama playing golf but did grumble when I heard Michelle got a free trip to Paris or something like that but since I didn't really know what she was doing there (or pretending to do) I just figured better to ignore the incident.
He constantly harped on President Obama playing golf and how he wouldn't golf. Do you folks just ignore this stuff? Like it directly came out of his mouth. The news media just pointed out the hypocrisy, they don't care that he plays.
Why are you bringing up athletes and entertainers? Are you suggesting the money they make is not deserved? Think about the next time you cheer on a sports team, wax poetic about a song you loved, or debate with friends your favorite movie or TV show. Those people garner those salaries because they are talented and generate a lot of revenue for their craft. The whole point of not having very high salaries for public service is that it's supposed to be about public service, not celebrity. We only pay presidents of this country about $400k a year and professional athletes who have essentially no impact on our lives compared to what the president has get paid truckloads more of money so in that thought complaining about them getting a few hundred thousand dollars of perks can make us look a little petty while we have people paying a ball player 5 million a year and cheer them on we boo our presidents for less than half a million. It just all seems a bit odd. I think they should raise the salary of the President to 1 million a year as he is a greater celebrity than most entertainers... hated or not.
