I think that is the point. If it takes off, how much do you want to bet that he won't do anything to ban all of the Neo-Nazis it will inevitably attract, no matter what they post there?
Just as soon as he wraps up all his hard work on Infrastructure Week.Is he finally building something from scratch?
I'm pretty sure that posts which imply disagreement with the policies here on CF and other moderated social media sites are against the rules. I'd be careful with that.As a private company, Twitter can do as it pleases. The rub comes in that social media sites were given special "Section 230" protections by Congress providing that they keep their platforms open to all, in good faith.
Some believe that the various tech giants have violated the "good faith" provision of Section 230 ... and therefore should now be treated as publishers ... thus, subject to the liabilities publishers must contend with.
Honestly, I kinda scoff the Christians who constantly chant "Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!"
Twitter has had the tech to crackdown on right wing extremism for a while now but it hasn't used it before Jan 6 because it would also crackdown on GOP politicians as they use the exact same rhetoric as dangerous and murderous white supremacist extremists.
I know how you feel about giving them "all your personal information".This is as fake as claims of 2020 election fraud! But you can totally own me by giving them all your personal information.

I had a similar reaction when Facebook demanded I provide them a copy of my passport. Huh? Provide such detailed personal information to the least secure application on the entire internet, an app which is also one of the most politically active? Nooo ....
SameThat’s funny, I’ve been on Facebook for more than 15 years and I’ve never been asked for a copy of my passport or any form of ID.
It's the difference between a cacophony and a choir - the cacophony is free to do as it pleases, the choir is not. But the choir is grateful to their director and using their instruments as intended and getting better and better at using them as they were intended. No one says "thank you" to the cacophony, not even themselves in the end.

I won't bet anything on that wishful thinking, and one reason is that everything I can find about this proposed (or promised) new site suggests that it's for him to receive private correspondence from supporters and/or for him to make his own reports to the nation, BUT NOT to have just one more site on which anybody and everybody gets to sound off.If it takes off, how much do you want to bet that he won't do anything to ban all of the Neo-Nazis it will inevitably attract, no matter what they post there?
Good for you. Never, ever, forget your password or go for long periods of time without posting. For some reason rather than implementing a reasonable password reset policy like most of the civilized world, Facebook demands drivers license, passport or other government issued ID when resetting the password. That’s funny, I’ve been on Facebook for more than 15 years and I’ve never been asked for a copy of my passport or any form of ID.
Thats false and I know from personal experience. This site limits free speech..... which is perfectly understandable. A total free for all isnt in this site's interest.Nope.....

TIL that union membership cards and high school yearbooks are government issued IDs.
But others are fairly benign and may be worth considering if you want to keep your account: a magazine subscription stub (you’d want to redact your street address), a library card, a union membership card, a copy of the page of your yearbook with your photo, or a utility bill (though you’d want to redact the street address and account number).
