A federal judge in Texas blocked President Biden’s 100-day deportation “pause” on Tuesday in a ruling that may point to a new phase of conservative legal challenges to his administration’s immigration agenda.

Well...you might want to hold off on breaking out the champagne quite just yet

Trump justified various policies on the established principal that the president has wide discretion in immigration matters. This is likely to fail on appeal.

They are all illegally in the country.

Yes, but there isn't enough staff to eject everyone, so administrations have to set priorities. As you know, Obama deported lots of people. There's no reason to think that Biden won't do deportation as well. However there are likely to be different priorities.

I'll give you an example of something that I hope will change. Our church has a number of Christian refugees from Indonesia, who have reason to fear for their safety if they return. One of them was arrested under Trump, even though he has applied for asylum and reported his location regularly to the INS.

These people are already in custody and adjudicated. Your point seems to be lost in the reality of what is going on.

As for the person you spoke of - IF they legally entered this country, what was the reason for their detainment - remember assylum is granted, then they enter. Not illegally entering then applying. I don't know if that is the case, but as the son of a legal immigrant I know my parents were never in jeopardy of being picked up by INS - only the ILLEGAL ones are.

There is a lawful and proper way of entering this country. I hope he is well and safe.

Side note: In the late 80's our church helped a group of refugees from Ukraine. We assisted their paperwork, Provided housing and food. Everyone of them came legally and eventually landed jobs and became citizens. In the five years i was there on staff, not ONE time did INS come. Not ONE time were any of them in fear of being deported - why? Because they acted in a legal and lawful way of entering the country. Just like my parents did.

These individuals suffer the same as our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He too was not welcomed. "I was a stranger and you did not welcome me ".
Be aware and Be blessed.

FYI - NO, Jesus never entered a country illegally, sold drugs, raped, murdered, assaulted or committed any crime. They are not suffering for righteousness, they are reaping what they have sown. Jesus was NEVER lawless as these people are.

Jesus also said" John 7:24 "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”

If they had done things legally, they wouldn't be being deported. There would be no cause to arrest or detain them.

Signed: the son of LEGAL immigrants

I do not belive His words in this case applies to those seeking work, shelter and safety. The degree of hypocrisy is astounding. Every person in the USA has benefited from undocumented immigrant labor. To deny that fact is simply outrageous.

The people being deported are here illegally with the vast majority of them gang members or criminals.

As for your link - need does not excuse breaking the law. Either you are acting in a righteous and honest way or you are not.

God requires righteousness.

BTW - I am the son of LEGAL immigrants.
Thanks for engaging and disagree with you whole hearty.
BTW- I am the daughter of many Cuban legal immigrants who claimed asylum when this was the proper channel. The last administration has made it clear that even this is no longer a passage to the free world.
