Joseph Smith like any false prophets proved he was a false apostle bringing the doctrines as commandments of men . The last prophet bringing new prophecy was John . It makes it easy to try the spirits whether earthly of men or inspired of God above not seen His doctrine failing down like rain on mankind .

When looking at the word of God (sola scriptura) and trying the spirits to see if inspired from above unseen, or temporal earthly as that of men seen . Some destroyed the true meaning of the word apostle which simply is "sent one" with no other meaning it means exactly that "sent ones".

What did profit was the unseen Father strengthening the Son pouring out His Spirit essence of life in jeopardy of his own Spirit life to show the work that brings the peace of God according to His understanding.. I see that a little differently

Jesus lived in a corrupted aging, dying, earthen body of death. God is not a man as us. As eternal Spirit he has no DNA

All corrupted flesh is signified as "sinful flesh" to include the flesh of Jesus in which he said his own flesh; "it profits for nothing, zero" .

As sons' of God redeemed mankind (men and woman) (1 John 3:2) know one knows what our new incorruptible bodies will be ?

We do know they will be like those kind of messengers or angels who can no longer procreate . Neither male nor female, Jew nor gentile. But as entirely new creation .Not made up with the rudiments of this corruption under the Sun .(the temporal time period )

Likeness of sinful flesh in Romans 8 below reveals to us how sin is revealed through the corrupted,. In that way all flesh has corrupted His way truth and life. . Thou shall not eat of forbidden fruit or you will surely die at the end of your temporal time the last breath of oxygen.

Genesis 6:12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

Dying flesh return to the dust was the judgment.

That is one reason why I think Jesus says of his own flesh (what the eyes see) profits for zero.(John 6)

It was the working of the power of God that worked in the Son of man. . Jesus said; "not as I will but as you the powerful one " .The Father strengthened Jesus inwardly three times during the propmised three days and nights outward demonstration. The peace of two working as one they finished the work that brings peace to our new hearts and a new hope among each other the newly born family of God . Christians .
The power to finish the unseen work of the two came from the unseen Holy Father . Apostles, those sent to do the will of the father they have no power of their own . Jesus the chief apostle (sent one) said; not as I will but as the Father the greater one (position, not person ) God is one who alone has the power of ressurection giving new spirit life . Again it is never after corrupted ,powerless flesh and blood. Holiness of Spirit not seen, not holiness of flesh seen.

It took corruption to help the corrupted (dead in their trespasses and sins) to hear the voice of the father. The power of the gospel .A vison or image that has no substance would not be suffice. Flesh and blood were needed to demonstrate once..the demonstration ended.

Do modern Mormons ever think about this? It is clear that Joseph Smith's view of eternity was limited by what science knew, and did not know, in the early 19th century. We know more about the physical universe today. We know that the earth will not always be inhabitable, that our sun will not last forever, and even the physical universe as a whole won't last forever.

Traditional Christianity never thought that God was limited by the physical universe. The Mormon religion starts from the assumption that their God is limited by the physical universe. That limitation is a serious problem.

The almanac had even more to say about the inhabitants of the moon, who view the earth through their telescopes and read by the light of the earth:

Every one, perhaps, is not aware how the earth appears to the inhabitants of the Moon. As more than three fifths of the earth is covered with water, and being nearly 13 times larger than the moon, a full earth must be a grand sight! We've actually had this discussion before.

During Joseph's lifetime, newspapers all over the United States fell for a major hoax. Someone falsely claiming to be a then-prominent astronomer claimed to have found life on the Moon, and that the inhabitants were humanoids with a description similar to what Joseph is alleged to have said.

Even if Joseph did indeed allegedly make this statement, it could easily mean nothing more than his believing what he read in a newspaper that had fallen for the hoax.

So unless you're willing to try and argue that Joseph should have had angels fact-checking his morning paper, then it's a moot discussion as we'd need Joseph himself around to explain matters.
