gods and lords of the sons of men

1 Corinthians 8:
5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth,
as there be gods many, and lords many,
6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him;
and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Even the most powerful gods and lords of the earth have one thing in common;
They all die like men.

Psalm 82:
6 I said, You are gods, and all of you are children of the Most High.
7 But you shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
8 Arise, O God, judge the earth; for You shall inherit all nations.

So was Satan lying, or using a truth to gain a subtle but devastating
advantage over mankind?

Genesis 3:5. For God knows that in the day you eat thereof, then your
eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Now consider what Yeshua was teaching:
John 10:
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, You are gods?
35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came and the Scripture
cannot be broken,
36 do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,
You are blaspheming, because I said, I am the Son of God?

He calls the Psalm "your law", and states definitively "The Scripture
cannot be broken". And yet, He only partially quotes the verse, leaving
us the noble task of searching the Word to find the fuller Truth.
John 1:4. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

John 5:
39 You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life;
and these are they which testify of Me.
40 But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.
