Jeremiah 12:
5
If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you,
Then how can you contend with horsemen?
And if in the land of peace,
In which you trusted
, they wearied you,
Then how will you do in the swelling of the Jordan?
6 For even your brothers, the house of your father,
Even they have dealt treacherously with you;
Yes, they have called a multitude after you.
Do not believe them,
Even though they speak smooth words to you.

The Lord Appointed Jeremiah(The Lord has appointed)
to proclaim calamity upon Judah and Jerusalem. He was
called out from among the priests living in Anathoth.
Anathoth means 'answer to prayer', and here was his instructions.

Jeremiah 11:14. So do not pray for these people, or lift up a cry or prayer for them;
for I will not hear them in the time that they cry out to Me because of their trouble.

As for Jeremiah's family, his own brothers led the opposition to suppress his message,
even conspiring to put him to death.

Jeremiah 11:
21
Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the men of Anathoth who seek your life,
saying, Do not prophesy in the name of the Lord, lest you die by our hand.
22 Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will punish them. The young men
shall die by the sword, their sons and their daughters shall die by famine;
23 and there shall be no remnant of them, for I will bring catastrophe on
the men of Anathoth, even the year of their punishment.

Disciples of Jesus Christ are called to be men and women of prayer.
Without fruitful branches of Christ, intercession ceases, and the covenant fails.

John 15:
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and
it shall be done for you.
8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and
bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My
name He may give you.

Jeremiah 11:
6 Then the Lord said to me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the
streets of Jerusalem, saying: Hear the words of this covenant and do them.
7 For I earnestly exhorted your fathers in the day I brought them up out of the land
of Egypt, until this day, rising early and exhorting, saying, Obey My voice.
8 Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but everyone followed the dictates of
his evil heart; therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which
I commanded them to do, but which they have not done.

Interesting that Jesus would inform His disciples that they were chosen and appointed to go
and bear fruit that remains. He then defines that fruit as being produced by prayers and
intercessions. And yet, somehow we can conclude that this is not an aspect of our covenant relationship
with Christ? Is covenant defined simply as what God has done for us, or is there some expectations
placed upon those who have been bought with a price?
Exactly how is this NOT covenant theology? Regardless, it explains a lot about the state of the church.

I’ve only seen one aspect of reasoning about unanswered prayer.

I’ve only seen one aspect of reasoning about unanswered prayer.
Luke 18:
1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,
2 saying: There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man.
3 Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, Get justice for me from my adversary.
4 And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, Though I do not fear God nor
regard man,
5 yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6 Then the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge said.
7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long
with them?

8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He
really find faith on the earth?

Luke 11:
5 And He said to them, “Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves;
6 for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him;
7 and he will answer from within and say, Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my
children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you?
8 I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of
his persistence
he will rise and give him as many as he needs.
9 So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be
opened to you.
10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?
12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!

I have not stopped praying for the peace of Jerusalem, have you? And yet it seems so far from us.
