That is fair (and precedented) from a judicial standpoint, but convicts on death row usually get an opportunity to get saved before they are executed.
Oh, anyone can at anytime get saved by God. And yes, if there is a delay before they are stoned, then they have time to repent. I'll allow for a delay before sentence is carried out with a Mill stone. But a Millstone death would also allow for time for repentance. So perhaps the Millstone is the preferred and most Godly death, so perpetrators have time to repent before their death. Even those falsely accused would have time to meet with God and repent of any other sins before they drown.

What is the duty of us as christians to battle pedophilia, to pray only?
Don't vote for Democrats in California. (See SB-145). The normalization of pedophilia is next for the progressive agenda.

Why do your one sentence threads keep getting featured on the home page ?

And why do you keep talking about such disturbing stuff ?

Apparently what this law actually does has no effect on heterosexual acts. It changes to law to treat homosexual statutory rape the same as heterosexual statutory rape. Does California SB 145 legalize pedophilia? | cbs8.com. I believe treating them differently would be unconstitutional.

Not just reporting, but also building church practices which create a culture of safety.

For example, having as a church policy that no adult will ever be alone with a child (other than their own child) on church property or at church events.
How would we be viewed from the outside, when we find out that the church believes that there adults cannot be with children without abusing them? as there are institutions in the world that do not has this fear not think policies like this are necessarily?

It would be impossible to know at what age the most psychological damage is done to a child who has been abused but it seems like there should be a more serious penalty for a predator who victimizes an elementary school student versus a highschool junior who is closer tothe age of consent. Both surely should be felonies. I would just hope that a 6 year old could get extra consideration. Still I don't want to imply that an adult seducing a highschool student is somehow more acceptable. Are there any sentencing differences when it comes to the age of the victims? When it comes to what I think should be done with these abusers. My mind goes straight to castration and supervised release for a time determined by their response to treatment.

We have two options.

First we stop it. Second is to keep on letting it happen until the laws are changed making it legal. This falls under strengthening the hand of evil. By not stopping it and staying silent it will eventually be legal just like homosexuality. It will end up being a common occurrence and people will help and support those that engage in pedophilia. Christians will be seen as bad because we speak against it.

I think we have to teach our kids what to do if someone approaches them wanting to engage in touching or other pedophile type activities. If we find out about something happening it's our duty to call the cops. If the perp is part of our church, it's our duty to report it to the elders so they can protect other children in the church and so they can begin thr church discipline process against the perp.

Beyond that, we should not discount the power of prayer.

Report them. Bring them to justice. Protect children from them and put them away. And pray someone does not take revenge into their own hands as understandable as that would be.

The high school junior should be considered an adult. It's ridiculous that we continue to treat 17 year olds like children. They make adult decisions and should suffer adult consequences. Engaging in consensual sex with a 17 simply shouldn't be a crime. Let me step back, fornication should be a crime but engaging in consensual sex with a 17 year old shouldn't be considered pedophilia or statutory rape. If we're talking about children 12 and under it is without a doubt rape and should result in the death penalty.

[for me anyway] to say "pray only" indicates doubt as if it were not sufficient enough: we must needs believe in what we are praying to God and we ought always to pray and to not give up. As for a particular sin out in the world, there are certainly many more out there as well: we should base our believing in God on what our circumstances are in life, but on trusting Him and submitting to and relying upon His Word; as for us, we need to learn not to think above that which is written, so that we do not begin to exaggerate and over-estimate: but for this we would have to first deny our own will.
