I don't know why folks attempt to downplay these happenings.

Because I don't think anyone wants to initiate the deep changes required, to effectively limit climate change.

With over a hundred developing economies and increasing demand for electricity and cars. Our CO2 emissions will only increase over time. I firmly believe that it was too late twenty years ago, to keep CO2 levels down.

You can't cut down thousands of forests and not expect the climate to change. You can't develop immense industrial capacity and pump out billions of tons of CO2. Then stand back and believe the climate will not change.

The world is dreaming.

Oh wow, I hadn't heard about the floods. A lot of firefighters killed or injured too and 100,000 evacuated!

California is wanting tax dollars to help with the wildfires. Part of that money is from me. Which I am willing to give them. But it is due their own foolishness that they find themselves (once again) in this mess. They refuse to listen to the pros (forestry service), in removing parts of the forest that trigger these fires. If they want help from the mass, then strings need to be attached. We should tell them to stop this tree hugging nonsense, and allow the forestry service to this the areas that they think is best. Otherwise, no bail outs.

California really hasn’t been foolish because they’re near the forefront of USA states trying to alleviate global warming . The real issue is that this is GLOBAL warming .

I feel silly having the number of houseplants I have but I’m trying in my own teeny way to at least help . . My former mayor Bloomberg started planting trees to help . Aside from benefits to wildlife the tree help a tiny amount of a global problem. The point is they’re helping . We need to put the USA back in the agreements to reduce CO2 levels . We need to completely stop teaching pseudoscience in the schools and that includes creationism .

This is the exactly kind of superstitious and destructive behavior that we’re fighting against . When your kids mess up the living room you make them clean it up. We’ve messed up the planet and we can clean it but scientific illiteracy mixed with religion and greed has prevented that .
