...so you're okay with people being fired for a son disobeying his parents or doing yard work on Saturday? Both of which were capital offenses in the Bible. Or how about wearing mixed fabrics, which was also forbidden in the Bible, just not a capital offense. Eating lobster, pork and cheese burgers were also considered sins. Oddly enough, not obeying a courts decision was also a capital offense.
tulc(is just wondering where the line for "not surrounding ourselves with bad people" is drawn?)
How are you going to make it in the Kingdom when you can't judge righteous matters now?
When Jesus comes back and He is reigning over in Israel, and Christians we are reigning with Him, what do you think we will base our moral and religious judgments on? Not the worlds opinions, but Gods Law. That be what is written in the Bible.
The Kingdom will not be a democracy, but a Monarchy & Theocracy. Righteous people will kill their kids for saying they are a prophet. Why? Because Jesus will be reigning on the Earth and there will be no more prophets to deceive the people.
Isa. 2,
1This is what Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:
2In the last days
the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established
as the highest of the mountains;
it will be exalted above the hills,
and all nations will stream to it.
3Many peoples will come and say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the temple of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways,
so that we may walk in his paths.”
The law will go out from Zion,
the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
4He will judge between the nations
and will settle disputes for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not take up sword against nation,
nor will they train for war anymore.
Zech 13,
2“It will come about in that day,” declares the LORD of hosts, “that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered; and I will also remove the prophets and the unclean spirit from the land.
3“And if anyone still prophesies, then his father and mother who gave birth to him will say to him, ‘You shall not live, for you have spoken falsely in the name of the LORD’; and his father and mother who gave birth to him will pierce him through when he prophesies
