sex organs are unpresentable parts.
Ankles were once unpresenatble, were they sex organs?
Your argument sounds circular. They are sex organs because they are unpresentable and they are unpresentable because they are sex organs?

lol, rejoice in the wife of your youth, may her ankles satisfy you always...

I would say breasts are specifically called out in scripture as sexual play things for the marital relationship. The more skin shown, the greater the desire to "climb her tree and partake of her fruits". If there were a scripture about wives playing with their man's boobs, I think there would be more of a case for men keeping their shirts on.

Is it really "good" to be stirring up even more sexual desire in a society already so over-stimulated? If it was once not okay for men or women to show so much skin and now its acceptable- would we say that society as a whole was more Godly now or then? Perhaps we should be campaigning for men to put their shirts back on rather than for women to take them off.

There is not equality of rights for women and men, and there never will be if exceptions are kept. Women should have this same freedom as men. And you do not have basis from Bible passages that in any of those times breasts of women were never openly in view.

What is clear in the quoted passage is that in marriage a wife should satisfy her husband, by extension a husband should satisfy his wife. It does not itself mean that a woman's breasts are only to be seen by her husband, it would actually make no sense, but it is for the husband to physically enjoy his wife with physical contact, that is not at all the same thing and no basis to withhold equal rights in freedom. The needed equality will come, it would be constitutional in America, and it is not for any of us to stand in the way of that. God is not intending to repress any one group of people from the same things others have.

Always wearing tops continually is not healthy and good anyway.

Both are equal.

Certainly. That shouldn't be argued with.

They look different and have a different function. Thats why you cant compare the two behaviors.

Whatever. This shows no basis for unequal treatment legally.

This is your basis? Really? Nothing in these scriptures show women's breasts should be covered and not seen by others, or by other men. If it had to be interpreted that way, with there being no basis for it, really though, her face is pleasing to her husband, there it says even her ankles are pleasing to her husband, those should be covered up. If all parts of her physical self are pleasing to her husband, all of her totally should be kept covered, totally, for any other men to not fee her, then, by that logic, to its actual conclusion.

But there is no real problem shown from what is seen of women in society even where women's breasts are not kept always hidden.

I'm not going to read through this entire thread to see if anyone has pointed this out, but a case could be made that the original civilization of Adam to Noah was the Minoan Civilization. Interesting that in a lot of the Minoan artwork the women are topless.

Done222 - I don't think that that has been pointed out in this thread. Thanks for adding that info .. do you know a web source that expands on that idea?
Egypt, China, Mesopotamia, and Indus Valley all had very early civilizations, but one theory is that the sea level was much lower before the great flood. The higher sea level after the great flood covered up much of the Minoan Civilization which was much larger and older than the other civilizations because it was the original civilization of Adam and Eve.

Under this theory the great flood only destroyed the Minoan civilization which at the time was called, “The face of the Earth”. (So that when the flood covered “the face of the Earth”, it only covered this civilization.) After the flood the sea level was higher than before, but the other civilizations all survived.

There is a lot of Minoan artwork with a woman (topless) holding snakes. Archeologists believe she was a “snake goddess” but she could have been depictions of Eve and the snake. If you google Minoan artwork, you’ll notice that the women are often topless.

This could be the origin of the story of Atlantis, a very large and advanced civilization that is believed to be at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea. If you google Minoan Atlantis, you’ll see that some people believe the Minoans are Atlantis.

For creationists Atlantis, if it exists, would be the civilization of Adam and Eve, except that the creationists would say that the land didn’t sink, instead the water rose.

.

Hello! Interesting. Some years ago I took a Greek Islands cruise and went to the Archaeological site at Knossos on Crete, the remains of the Minoan Palace, though some of it a modern reconstruction. Amazing place. Was thought to have been abandoned after a volcanic eruption on the neighbouring Island of Santorini. There were several pieces of artwork there of topless women. Different culture perhaps? The book of Amos says that the Philistines were from Caphtor, perhaps Crete. It has been theorised that they migrated to the Middle East after the fall out from the Volcanic eruption. God Bless :)

A search of the thread for the word Minoan could have been done, the search bar is at the top of the page of the thread, and it would be needed to have search this thread marked. This was the first mention of Minoan in the thread.

For creationists Atlantis, if it exists, would be the civilization of Adam and Eve, except that the creationists would say that the land didn’t sink, instead the water rose.

But Adam and Eve did not have a civilization, and civilization started with Babel well after the flood, and the ice age, and it was not from observing God's will. Civilization from then on went contrary to God's will, which was clear enough from what was said even after the fall of humanity in the beginning.

The flood which covered the earth by many hundreds of feet was global. No humans survived it but those on the ark.

Minoan civilization continued on after the ice age and dispersal from Babel.

None of that involves the issue of whether there is anything wrong with women's breasts, or even nipples, being in the sight of others. Saying that the Bible is against that still does not have basis. There is more certainty that there is nothing inherently wrong with women's breasts being in the sight of others than there is of civilization being here in the will of God, while civilization we are in is definitely destructive in this world God provided, and it is godless.
