Except it was not actually an anarchy but rather a fiefdom with armed thugs enforcing the will of a few over the will of the many. Much like the beginnings of the feudal hierarchies of the past.

Nope. Not even a little bit.
It could have gone the way that a very disturbing number of people wanted it to, with the military sweeping in and killing everyone. I am glad that the mayor and the cops chose instead to not further radicalize the already very radical few people who were still there, long after most people left. They managed to clear it out as peacefully as possible.

They're going in to arrest people. If you resist arrest you'll forcibly arrested, beaten or killed. That's they way arresting people works, otherwise you could just say "I don't want to be arrested" and they'd let you go on about your business.

Breaking down the "CHOP" Zone class action lawsuit against Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan and Governor Jay Inslee. It's a fascinating lawsuit, and Robert Barnes explained how the mayor and governor have, through their conduct, in fact created a legitimate basis for the suit.

My favorite memory of CHAZ/CHOP is that Steven Crowder sent his crew in to rent Raz Simone's apartment (the de facto "leader") and named it "New CHAZ" lol.
I can't link the actual video due to some language in it, but it's not that hard to find on youtube if you search for "new chaz! crowder"
Of course, Raz wasn't too pleased, and responded by making a thinly veiled threat (or some tough guy posturing?) in response to it

I haven't seen that one, but I guess I did hear him talk about it on one of his latest broadcasts. I find his "Change My Mind" videos very good and have thought of even doing a thread on one before.
He is a definite wit and somebody who I think actually intimidated Jon Stewart back in the heyday of the Daily Show. Crowder was looking for work after Fox dropped his humor segments, and was trying to get in at various places including the daily show, back when Stewart claimed "he had no agenda / bias". In theory Crowder could have balanced the show out in the same way as some other conservative & liberal collaboration news and opinion shows have been done.
