he says the death counts are exaggerated and the shut down wasn't justified.
I agree. What do yall think?

I wonder what the people of Brazil think about that.

"In the past 24 hours, Brazil, which now has the second-largest outbreak in the world behind the United States, registered 1,124 deaths from the virus
What’s another thousand a day gonna matter when it gets to that level? They ain’t American. For context, about 4,000 people die in Brazil every day.
YHWH?Why would any event be honest, as the god of this world and his kingdoms are fully at work.
That depends entirely on where you live. You can see here that large parts of the US did shut down hard, while other parts changed little.I completely and totally agree. The lock down did nothing because it was barely a lock down with everybody still going pretty much everywhere except the barber and sports.
He teaches university courses, wouldn't that make him a professor?

He teaches university courses, wouldn't that make him a professor? I'm not trying to argue, just asking a genuine question. He is a physician and epidemiology researcher as well.
No. Courses can be taught by quite a variety of people, including grad students. His title is Lecturer. I don’t know that institution, so I don’t know what the title means. He teaches epidemiology, but it’s not unusual for faculty to teach intro level courses outside their specialty. He certainly should know a reasonable amount about it though. His research papers do seem outside this area.He teaches university courses, wouldn't that make him a professor? I'm not trying to argue, just asking a genuine question. Dr Simon Thornley - The University of Auckland
That article doesn't help your case. It compares 3 months of covid19 to an entire year of flu as though that were equitable. One month after it was written, we've hit the 100,000 mark that the article claimed wouldn't be reached until August. Phht.I completely and totally agree. The lock down did nothing because it was barely a lock down with everybody still going pretty much everywhere except the barber and sports. They said don't get covid and kill grandma yet Cuomo in New York wiped out many nursing homes because he forced covid patients into nursing homes and he wasn't the only one. They lied about all this from the beginning and haven't stopped, I use to not think anything about Government one way or another now I can't stand Government. Here is an article about the lock down hoax. (Note I never said the virus was a hoax nor do I believe it is a hoax, I do believe they over-hyped it and dealt in inappropriate content fear)
COVID-19 turning out to be huge hoax perpetrated by media
His title is Lecturer.
I don’t know that institution
Senior Lecturer. That's generally the top of the UK/AU/NZ academic ladder, equivalent to full professor.
It really isn't. We have both associate professor and full professor above senior lecturer.
Academic ranks (Australia and New Zealand) - Wikipedia
Our "full professor" generally corresponds to the US "head of department."
We do have "Associate Professors" and "Readers," but most Australian academics finish their career as Senior Lecturer (although that's changing).
The University of Auckland, where Thornley works, doesn't seem to have many "Associate Professors." I'm confident in calling him the NZ equivalent of a US "Full Professor."
