I am drowning in darkness right now. So much bitterness, and rage. My home life is really chaotic, right now and I am losing it. I am beyond the brink of sanity. Satan is attacking a relative in my home, or something, and I just cannot deal. I am losing faith in God, if I ever had any to begin with, and in my salvation, because I just can’t seem to bear good fruits at all.

I don’t know God wants me to do to make this stop. I am angry at Him, and I hate that too. I don’t want to be angry with God, I want to trust Him. But it is beyond my capacity, I feel. I can’t manifest faith and love that I don’t have, and I feel as though my conscience is seared at this point. I am desperate. Thank you to whomever reads this and prays for me.

When we feel overwhelmed by circumstances in life it can be more difficult to have faith. So it is good that you come here and ask for others' prayers.

I will pray for you to have insight and guidance, for holy angels to be with you, for direction, comfort and healing and peace.

I'm in agreement with LL's words and prayer. There is power in numbers.

I'll also offer my own prayer soon as I finish this. But yes, darkness can be tough to deal with. But you should keep something in mind, sometimes angels are sent in to lift these things away and find so much opposition they are delayed in arriving. Never give up hope . There is a spiritual battle raging that we can't see. But our job is to contend in the faith, keep our eyes set on the Lord.

I don't know your situation, but I know of your situation, I've been there before. Many of us had.

I will pray for you. Please, don't lose faith. You aren't alone, I assure you.

I am drowning in darkness right now...
A prayer:
O Master Christ God, Who hast healed my passions through Thy Passion, and hast cured my wounds through Thy wounds, grant me, who have sinned greatly against Thee, tears of compunction. Transform my body with the fragrance of Thy life-giving Body, and sweeten my soul with Thy precious Blood from the bitterness with which the foe has fed me. Lift up my down-cast mind to Thee, and take it out of the pit of perdition, for I have no repentance, I have no compunction, I have no consoling tears, which uplift children to their heritage. My mind has been darkened through earthly passions, I cannot look up to Thee in pain. I cannot warm myself with tears of love for Thee. But, O Sovereign Lord Jesus Christ, Treasury of good things, give me thorough repentance and a diligent heart to seek Thee; grant me Thy grace, and renew in me the likeness of Thine image. I have forsaken Thee – do then not forsake me! Come out to seek me; lead me up to Thy pasturage and number me among the lambs of Thy chosen flock. Nourish me with them on the grass of Thy Holy Mysteries, through the intercessions of Thy most pure Mother and all Thy saints. Amen. - Anonymous

Hello @The Quiet In Christ, I'm sorry to hear that you are continuing to struggle at home, with life and with the faith (although those struggles are often found together, of course). Hang in there in hope of a better tomorrow (it's coming), and do not despair, knowing that as difficult a time as this is for you, the Lord still has this, and your very best is always His concern .. e.g. Romans 8:28 :) (even though I am certain it doesn't feel that way to you right now :().

Now is the time to trust in His great promises to you .. e.g. Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 3:5-6; Isaiah 40:31, 41:10, 43:2; Jeremiah 29:11; Lamentations 3:21-24; Philippians 1:6; 2:13, 4:6-8; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, 23-24, and to trust in His great and everlasting love for you .. e.g. Jeremiah 31:3; Ephesians 1:4-6.

Perhaps you should stay in close contact with your pastor right now too (for his encouragement & counsel, and so that he will continue to know how to pray for you). When life becomes too much for me to handle, my pastor is the very first person I call .. cf Hebrews 13:17.

Praying for you.

God bless you!

--David
p.s. - something (that I believe I mentioned to you before) that I always find helpful during life's most trying times is looking for something, in the midst of the storm that I am facing, to thank Him for. It's normally something very small and often fleeting, but if you look, you will find something, and then many somethings if you continue to look. It makes trusting Him in the midst of the storm easier for me somehow, and it is often the very thing that helps me leave all of my troubles right where they need to be, in His precious hands.

Thank you for being honest. I've been where you are and it is hell on earth.

Firstly, you need to let God off the hook. It's not His fault, no matter how it looks. When I was at my wits end, terrified (and I mean that I was shaking with fear), God's word cut through my torment. I remembered the precious blood of the Lord shed for me. I confessed that I was wrong and claimed the cleansing power of the blood. The attack lifted. Satan is the accuser of the brethren. My fear and torment was from him, not God.

Your problem stems from a misunderstanding of God's salvation. "Beyond your capacity....." That is entirely correct. God expects nothing from you but unbelief and sin. He also expects only bad fruit from you. You correct in saying that we bear fruit. We do not produce fruit. What fruit we bear depends on what kind of "tree" we are.

God's way of dealing with is is to kill the "tree" and replace it with another. He takes us and grafts us into Christ. The life that is in Christ then flows through the grafted branch and so fruit begins to form. All that we need to do is stay attached to the "Vine", the Lord Jesus.

No, you do not have faith and love. No one does. That's why we need Christ. If you will ask Him to be your faith, love, wisdom and everything else you need, He will be that for you. Better still, ask Him to live out His life in you, through you and in place of all that you used to be in Adam.

Only one person has lived the Christian life. It's the Lord Jesus. God knows that we cannot please Him, so He puts us to death and raises up to new life in Christ. That's what is means to be born again.

I'm including a link that may help to clarify some of what I've said. If you need help with anything else, let me know. I'm an expert on failure and defeat. I also know the power of God to deliver.

I just prayed for you.

Romans 10:9-13 KJV
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [11] For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. [12] For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. [13] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Proverbs 3:5-7 KJV
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. [7] Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 13:34 KJV
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Ephesians 4:26-27,29-32 KJV
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: [27] Neither give place to the devil. [29] Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. [30] And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. [31] Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: [32] And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Matthew 6:8-15 KJV
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. [9] After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. [10] Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. [11] Give us this day our daily bread. [12] And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. [13] And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. [14] For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: [15] But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 3:8-10 KJV
Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: [9] And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. [10] And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Luke 13:6-9 KJV

Psalm 1, Psalm 23

1 Peter 5:5-7 KJV
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. [6] Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: [7] Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8 KJV

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. [2] And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. [3] And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. [4] Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, [5] Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; [6] Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; [7] Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. [8] Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

Matthew 9:27-31 KJV
And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. [28] And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. [29] Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. [30] And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it. [31] But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.

2 Peter 1:2-9 KJV
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, [3] According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: [4] Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. [5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; [6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; [7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. [8] For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. [9] But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Hello @The Quiet In Christ, I'm sorry to hear that you are continuing to struggle at home, with life and with the faith (although those struggles are often found together, of course).

Thank you for your encouragement and optimism. I don’t have a pastor, or a church, so I’ve been kind of fellowshipping in digital communities, but it has felt hollow. There are folks on YouTube full of valuable information, though, who tend to give edifying words.

Amen. - Anonymous

Can you not move away from this relative? Only because sometimes it helps to give each other space. You know like, getting rid of our stress triggers as much as possible.

I can’t move away, but it is possible to gain short-term “breaks”, I guess. If this pandemic hadn’t come out of nowhere, I’d have undertaken a remote job far from here, but alas, that clearly wasn’t God’s plan. /shrug

I’ll be fine. :crossrc:

I'm in agreement with LL's words and prayer. There is power in numbers.

I'll also offer my own prayer soon as I finish this. But yes, darkness can be tough to deal with. But you should keep something in mind, sometimes angels are sent in to lift these things away and find so much opposition they are delayed in arriving. Never give up hope . There is a spiritual battle raging that we can't see. But our job is to contend in the faith, keep our eyes set on the Lord.

Thank you, I appreciate it a lot. <3

When we feel overwhelmed by circumstances in life it can be more difficult to have faith. So it is good that you come here and ask for others' prayers.

I will pray for you to have insight and guidance, for holy angels to be with you, for direction, comfort and healing and peace.

Thank you very much.

Hi all, I read through all of your responses tonight. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my (whining) and intercede on my behalf. I believe it will work. I appreciate the encouragement here, and I will meditate on your responses and pray more.

God bless you all.
