Got it now, thx.
I know that Michael Jackson, then Bill Cosby, were both scrutinized and one acquitted, probably unjustly, and the other found guilty. So while Weinstein and Epstein are probably a small percentage of the predators in the celebrity community, I'm not as skeptical as you are about the lack of prosecution.
I'm a Ronan Farrow fan and despite the fact that The New Yorker gets a lot not just wrong, but actually falsifies the record. They didn't get the Weinstein story wrong. Even though his protector now appears to be Hillary Clinton!
Further, the person that setup Epstein, albeit due to being conned, was none other than Leslie Wexner, founder of Limited Brands and majority owner of LBrands who's largest brand is Victoria's Secrets. Vicky's was just taken private last week and Les announced he is stepping down, the sales are off significantly, and the stock is off by over 50% in one year. Partially or largely due to the ME TOO movement, according to analysts.
So for those reasons, I remain optimistic, and just as the Clery Act took 10 years of work to become law and force colleges to accurately report campus rapes instead of covering them up with false record-keeping and refusal to charge suspects, so too, my hope is that the all criminals receive blind justice, including political figures and corporate leaders and even former presidents and their wives.
MJ owned 51% of sony (including the Beatles music), so He had to be made an example of. Cosby has a similar situation, and he was outspoken about some things in Hollywood. Michael Jackson was Hollywood's favorite abuse victim for a time, so they knew all the "sick things" he did (if any) since
they taught him and exposed him to it. An adult male who wants to be around children more than peers is already a serious psychological issue, but with all the resources Hollywood affords, no one helped him. No one watched out for him. His life and innocence was sucked out and all we did was "Rock With Him". Michael Jackson was allowed to be crucified by the public, a decade later, and then posthumously.
Cosby is outspoken against Hollywood in a clandestine way, and he has the audacity to try to establish his own self outside of Hollywood. He was a good jester until the didn't need him, but he was still allowed to be publically humiliated.
Same with R. Kelly: he is being allowed to be publically humiliated at this particular time, despite most of the music industry knew about his sexual assault of minors. They can't even get enough outrage for him even with three 6-part series with witness and victim testimony.
But, despite the majority of their music being consumed by non-black people, their "sacrifice" isn't producing the energy expected. People don't reply care - THE THEATER SHOW is a bust. It would have been much more efficient to focus on the former three, but since people didn't respond favorably (for Hollywold), they are using a higher profile patsy.
Remember, with all of these people mentioned comes a lot of High Profile entities that do not want to be known (e.g. "The Prince and Epstein"). So, it isn't just Hollywood trying to direct and control energy, it is the pressure from royalty and governments that compels them.
I believe everyone will be judged in the end, but many people behave as if there is no Judge compiling our actions for weight.
However, I vehemently do
not share the same optimism, and I hope I am wrong. But, this stuff goes on all the time, and we rarely hear of the pith because every time someone tries to tell us something we dismiss them because it doesn't seem likely/possible/agreeable... then they are gone (I used to be that person, so I consider the scoffing and dismissal of things I am saying now as fair turnabout.)
