Why does the Patriarch of Romania wear white?

It represents the fact that the Patriarchate / Church of Romania never deviated from the canonical path of Orthodoxy.

The first patriarch, Miron Cristea, received as a gift the white veil from a Slavic church (from metropolitan Dyonisios of Warsaw/Poland). For the Slavs this represent their independence from EC. From here, the ROC decided synodicaly to have their patriarch in full withe based on the argument from the 1st paragraph.

During the Triodion the Patriarch normally will change from White to Grey and then to Black for Great and Holy Week changing back to White for Pascha and thereafter.
