Being a former business man I would not blame that on Trump because, businesses go broke every day.
M-Bob

Well many of Trump's businesses went broke, so you do have a point. But this is a man who thinks that you can get cancer from windmills.

Good thread to showcase the wisdom of Biden in contrast.

Biden: "Yes" We Must Be Willing To Sacrifice Oil And Gas Jobs To Transition To A Green Economy

Republicans pounced on former Vice President Joe Biden for saying in Thursday night’s sixth Democratic presidential primary debate that he would be willing to sacrifice jobs in the oil and gas industries to transition to a green economy.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
David Spigelmyer says that this would mean the loss of up to 600,000 jobs in Pennsylvania and possibly up to 15 million jobs lost across the USA.
M-Bob
And many more jobs pop up in green economy jobs and cleaner air.

Isn't that the guy that guy that lost money with casinos? Even the Mafia manages to have successful casinos, and that is after skimming 70% of the profits.

Some people have a talent for turning gold into lead.

U.S. has more untapped oil than Saudi Arabia or Russia

Move over, Saudi Arabia and Russia. America now has more untapped oil than any other country on the planet.

That's according to a new report from Rystad Energy that estimates the U.S. is sitting on an incredible 264 billion barrels of oil reserves. It includes oil in existing fields, new projects, recent discoveries as well as projections in undiscovered fields.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
How much coal is left - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)

Based on U.S. coal production in 2018, of about 0.76 billion short tons, the recoverable coal reserves would last about 332 years, and recoverable reserves at producing mines would last about 20 years. The actual number of years that those reserves will last depends on changes in production and reserves estimates.
Russia may have 100 billion barrels of untapped shale oil in one region alone. Argentina has a shale oil field similar to the Eagle Ford oil/gas field of East Texas. Canada is fracking shale. Australia recently discovered a 6 billion barrel shale oil field. Brazil has offshore deep water oil fields and may double oil production to 7 million barrels of oil per day. Guiana offshore is the scene of recent oilfield discoveries. Mexico has shale oil and deep water resources that remain untapped. Shale exploration abroad is in its beginning stages.

The U.S. oil reserves you listed may not be technically recoverable at low oil prices. California was once thought to hold large amounts of shale oil. The California shale is not being developed as fracking yielded too little oil.

In spite of switching to natural gas, global coal consumption has started to rise again. India is reliant on coal. China suffers pollution from coal power plants.

America gained oilfield jobs under Obama. Some people in coastal areas like West Palm Beach, FL want something done about sea level rise as they fear the erosion of their real estate values. I can not stop driving or buy a solar powered Tesla, even though I know my car produces CO2 and may cause global warming.

Rising CO2 has 'greened' world's plants and trees | Carbon Brief
Earth’s plants and trees have sprouted enough new leaves since the early 1980s to cover twice the area of mainland United States, according to new research.

The paper, published today in Nature Climate Change, shows that up to half of the Earth’s vegetation-covered land is now “greener” than it was 30 years ago. Most of the change is down to rising CO2 from human activity, say the researchers.

Those are top secret and not to be shared with anyone.
Thought everyone knew that?

Bob, Donald repeatedly promised while campaigning to release his tax returns, as was custom for presidential candidates for decades.

He made up a tale about being under "audit" and that preventing him from releasing them, which was of course, a tale.

He's done more than anybody else to make it clear he's got a lot he is hiding.

I don't know if he is hiding anything or he is just too embarrassed by what they will show.

Miami is sinking due to pumping groundwater and surface subsidence. The sea level rise is currently estimated to be 1 - 2 inches per decade and accelerating. The past five years are the hottest five years on record.

Vermont residents started doing solar cell roof and yard installations. Their power company halted connecting them after they reached about 20% of total power generation as it becomes cost prohibitive. Solar is intermittent and requires expensive back up. Poor people can not afford to pay for a green grid. They might have their power turned off.

I remember people lined up around the block waiting for gasoline during the Arab oil embargo. We need oil. I have an oil and gas investment, thus I researched the subject.

Bill Gates proposed small scale safe nuclear reactors for electricity.

Which is why we need to pay more attention to infrastructure. Parts of our electricity grid are a hundred years old. It's deteriorating, struggling, vulnerable to hacking and badly needs renewal. A modern 'smart' grid could easily be structured to accommodate distributed power sources like rooftop solar installations. Why not? Because it's part of the Green New Deal and conservatives have to hate it?

Biden was asked whether he was willing to lose jobs to get green energy. He said yes, and then described the new jobs that would be created. I think he meant he was willing to lose existing jobs but they would be balanced by new ones.

That truly seems to be the best way out of this mess?

Nuclear power is the largest source ofelectricity in France, with a generation of 379.1 TWh, or 71.6% of the country's totalelectricity production of 519.4 TWh, the highest percentage in the world. ... EDF is substantially owned by the French Government, with around 85% shares in government hands.
