I believe you have been selling it for a bit on this thread already...
Plenty of takers if I was to spin it in Neo-Darwinian terminology.
I prefer something more substantial with bit of bite but let us hope your proverbial culinary skills improve and I can understand some people prefer low calorie information diet based on superstition so they do not get too sated with facts they have no constitution to digest themselves.
Your preference for a well thought out menu is revealing.
But my next product will be manufactured using the same principles and process, starting with what I have found in the bilges I will leave the bucket out in the approaching thunder storm. Given time I expect that it will be nothing less than the finest Cookie butter cheese cake you have ever tasted and 97% of scientists would agree.

Sounds bland, but just to help you start I think best bilge byproducts are on conspiracy theory forums and I think your comments would make a fine addition there. Happy baking.

Oh well, What a shame that ND principle have no application beyond evolutionary fields, I thought I was onto a good thing.
Will just have to stick to recognizing intelligent design as the only mechanism for invention I guess.

Nothing to be shamed of. Many feel that way even if nobody takes their contributions to science seriously.
Publish theory of intelligent desing, pack it up with facts and go get your Nobel Prize.

We can continue this chat after you return from those festivities. Looking forward to it.

Well, that was a perfect demonstration of my point.

What is your opinion on the shape of the planet?
Before anyone had a cell phone, a computer, a slide ruler, or even an electric light bulb ,
astronomers were smart. They had to use their brains.

"The earliest documented mention of the spherical Earth concept dates from around the 5th century BC, when it was mentioned by ancient Greek philosophers.[1][2] It remained a matter of speculation until the 3rd century BC, when Hellenistic astronomy established the spherical shape of the Earth as a physical fact and calculated the Earth's circumference."

"Lunar eclipses

The shadow of the Earth on the Moon during a lunar eclipse is always a dark circle that moves from one side of the Moon to the other (partially grazing it during a partial eclipse). This could be produced by a flat disc that always faces the Moon head-on during the eclipse, but this is inconsistent with the fact that the Moon is only rarely directly overhead during an eclipse. For each eclipse, the local surface of the Earth is pointed in a somewhat different direction. The shadow of a circular disc held at an angle is an oval, not a circle as is seen during the eclipse. The idea of the Earth being a flat disc is also inconsistent with the fact that a given lunar eclipse is only visible from half of the Earth at a time.

The only shape that casts a round shadow no matter which direction it is pointed is a sphere, and the ancient Greeks deduced that this must mean the Earth is spherical.[19]"

You do realize that most people rank evolution deniers right there with flat earthers ?
Could care less. There is obvious evidence for a round earth. And 44% of Americans remain unconvinced by evolution. I don't know if any of them are flat earthers. Anyway, the flat earth movement proves evolution is false. Humanity is going backwards.

Sounds reasonable.

Your tone in earlier posts seemed very defensive of Flat Earthers and their ideas.

Hardcore conservatives: Let's teach generations of children that evolution and climate change are a hoax and a conspiracy involving millions of scientists in every country all over the world.
Their children: the moon landing never happened, the earth is flat and vaccines cause autism and are made from fetal tissue.
Conservatives: *surprised pikachu face*.

Take a look around the science forums on this site, they are definitely growing in number.

Often it seems to grow out of existing feelings of betrayal by authority and belief in conspiracy.

So a lot of the Flat Earhers seem to have been Young Earth Creationists or Climate Change deniers... then took a further step.

Conspiracy becomes a necessary part of the belief. Once you've become convinced that the earth is flat...the next step is to explain why everyone else doesn't. Massive conspiracy is the only real explanation.

It used to be that bad ideas like a flat earth gained no traction because they had no audience. If you went around telling people the world is flat....you'd quickly realize you were in the minority .

The internet has allowed these people to connect though, and create an insular community.

It occurs to me that flat-earthism is like Pastafarianism or the sub-genius cult...for the only slightly less crazy.

"I don't want to be a flat Earther," David Weiss says, his voice weary as he reflects on his personal awakening. "Would you wake up in the morning and want everyone to think you're an idiot?"

The flat-Earth conspiracy is spreading around the globe. Does it hide a darker core? - CNN

People rarely have time to think for themselves (including alleged learned persons) to even entertain such a radical idea. That is the first line of psychological defense - to call something absurd - when you do not believe it, or cannot entertain it (for whatever reasons).

The underlying issue is that people do not trust the information institutions have simply given them, and told them to believe (because they said so). People are also learning that they cannot always trust their eyes, and very rarely can they trust their ears. People lie, and a conspiracy about where we are in this plane of existence wouldn't be the first, or the grandest conspiracy perpetuated even for the amount of time for which is has been perpetuated.

Entertaining everything will give you a head start on the truth. Humans handicap themselves by logic and reason.

The solution: Go for a sail around the world and become enlightened.

Sails around the world can be described by curvature, not necessarily a round/ball plane of existence.

A better example would be to be a frequent flyer, and look out at the little arrays of light... then realize at near cruising altitude, these little arrays of light on flat(ish) terrain are actually cities and small towns.

If you zoom in on the old "boat over the horizon", we will see tat the boat is actually still traveling straight - it never actually curves over the horizon (it is an optical illusion created by the interaction of light and the curvature of the water plane.)

(Note: I am not saying this is proof of a flat planar earth).

People have the intellectual right to question whatever they want to question - especially given the history of deception by all institutions. The disdain and scoffing shows the limited capacity of the person commenting - which is fine. Not everyone has the patience or willingness to entertain everything without necessarily accepting it... not everyone is supposed to.

A bit hard boiled .

...At any rate, what can anyone expect from a value base such as this:
"You do realize that most people rank ...~"

Credibility has left this party.

Flat-earth is like the mother of all science conspiracies, wherein hundreds of thousand of scientists are purported to participate in the "round earth" lie for purpose of bamboozling the sheeple.

Sound familiar?
This lack of any knowledge of CT sounds completely familiar.

To imagine everyone who executes a conspiracy agenda needs to know that's what they are doing is...
over simplification say the least.
Such an assertion is called "gatekeeping" and its purpose is to keep analytical thought at bay, evidenced by the hyperbola of "hundreds of thousands of scientists", as if truth depends upon consensus anyway.
Surely little attention if any has been given to the corruption in the "peer review" process.

Two simple concepts can be at play in the paving of a conspiracy highway to hell.
1. The useful idiot .
2. Compartmentalization

Now that you know how conspiracies operate, you might enjoy the entertaining hobby aspect of them and leave behind the safe comfort of uninformed dismissals...
I have to wonder how safe that really seems if one feels the need to go negative on someone else's entertainment hobby.

I think it's just good manners to at least be humorous when being judgemental. :)

He tends to show for underdogs when they're getting kicked.
I heard a rumor that there's some posters on this forum that don't believe in conspiracy theory.
You haven't noticed anyone being offensive toward Flat Earthers and their ideas, have you?
lol
