Is there anything in Scripture that points to it as eternal, and not completed?

Scripture seems more to refer to it as something completed, and he now sits at the right hand of God.

in Revelation, the Lamb was slain before the foundation of the world.

I didn't quite understand your comment. Could you please elaborate, I'm a tad slow at times :)

Ok just to keep the record straight there was a misunderstanding and the person does believe the scriptures were by divine revelation. Now he says that prophecy has ceased since the creation of the Bible which I disagree. I just wanted to add this so as to be honest about this individual.

That verse came to mind for me as well.

Rev 13:8 "And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." [emphasis mine]

This verse shows that Christ's crucifixion is something that transcends time.

So I checked all the passages I could find, and this is the closest - but I don't find it saying Jesus was slain before the foundation of the world, it's more like the names that were written in the Book of Life before the foundation of the world:

"and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the
Lamb who was slain."

Just really trying to see this, as the passages I find really seem to state Jesus offered Himself, and is now seated with God. I'm not so sure about this.

Revelation 13:8 Depends on which version you read:

Young's Literal Translation
"And bow before it shall all who are dwelling upon the land, whose names have not been written in the scroll of the life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world"

GOD'S WORD® Translation
"Everyone living on earth will worship it, everyone whose name is not written in the Book of Life. That book belongs to the lamb who was slaughtered before the creation of the world."

etc. etc.

the New King James words it a little differently.

"All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

plus Christ calls His crucifixion His glory, and prays to the Father for the glory He had before the world was.
