First he is talking about how our flesh must be out of the way >

"our brokenness, our old man > we call that the flesh > must be broken, must be out of the way."

But instead now we hear how we need to "build the flesh", "it's a feel-good message". "I am sad to say, that prosperity has gone a little crazy."

He says he thinks it is an offense to say to give money, "to place a price on the Gospel". He says if someone says "break the back of debt with a thousand dollars", he will rebuke them. "That's buying the Gospel, that's buying the blessing, that's grieving the Holy Spirit."

"If you are not giving because you love Jesus, don't bother giving."

"I think it's time we say it like it is > the Gospel is not for sale, and the blessings of God are not for sale, and miracles are not for sale, and prosperity is not for sale.

There is no way this could possibly be true repentance. This guy was a charlatan, and he remains a charlatan who is now just taking another avenue to justify his scamming and fakery. According to the Bible's description of repentance he could only be repentant if he were condemning himself in no uncertain terms, making restitution like Zaccheus, getting out of public ministry altogether, and refusing to ever accept another cent from the gospel seeing how he has so badly abused God's Word and cheated so many already. He'd be calling himself a liar, a con-man, a first class fraud, a hypocrite, a deceiver, etc. Am I being too hard? No. If he were truly repentant he would be at least this hard on himself. As it stands he is just getting applause still as well as fooling the simple into thinking that he is trustworthy now who may have been suspicious of him before. Those people in that audience were hanging on every word he said and they would have applauded him even if he were begging for money yet. They probably gave him more money after this speech than they would have if he had just begged for money and directly preached a prosperity gospel. They weren't going to call him out and tell him he needs to put his money where his mouth is and be like Zaccheus; or that he needs to admit himself a wretched criminal like the thief on the cross, and not only a hell-deserving sinner in the sense that all are, but worthy of extra damnation because of how he has deceived and enriched himself as an alleged minster of the Gospel of Christ. He was a master manipulator before; and he is only progressing in his manipulation tactics now. Don't fall for this phony repentance. Many will, and many of these will do so for more than being innocently naïve and overly generous and lacking Bible understanding; many will justify him because they also want to excuse their own lives with a shallow repentance that doesn't align with the appropriate Biblical spirit of, and works meet for, repentance. That is a sure way to end up in hell. To any who challenge my statements here I will just point to the verses below and reiterate that the repentance Hinn is professing doesn't line up with the Bible's definition of repentance- so it is therefore logically a phony repentance.

2 Corinthians 7:9-11: "9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. 10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. 11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter."

I feel those are cheap words after he already has a $60 Million net worth from preaching what he is now clarifying.

I would await his repentance by getting rid of the immense wealth he accumulated by preaching such before giving this much credibility.

Any thoughts on the above video?

God Bless :)

Interesting.
Thanks for sharing. :)

Well, if Benny Hinn has genuinely had a change of mind, heart ... and is repenting ... with time, we will see evidence of this. (The old saying: "Actions speak louder than words.")

Like many of us, Benny has professed being a Christian for a long time now. But the Christian life is not a stagnant one. As we walk out this life in this world, God ... the Holy Spirit ... continues to teach us, correct us, work to transform us ... until the day we leave here. And so sometimes, when God opens our eyes to truth, our beliefs can and will change.

Perhaps Benny has/is experiencing a time of spiritual awakening. If so, may God continue to bless him.

Wow...disappointing.

I have been praying for the last forty years that God would strike Benny dead like he did Ananias and Sapphira.

Benny is a man who preached a false Gospel for 40+ years and conned money out of poor, uneducated people. He made Jim and Tammy Fae Bakker look godly! There was a similar pastor in South Korea 20 or so years ago. He has a huge following and a church of tens of thousands, maybe even 100s of thousands. He had a several-million dollar car collection and multiple mansions. He got a stomach ulcer I recall (this could be wrong it has been over ten years), and died in the hospital and went to hell. He described the torment and his knowledge that he deserved the judgement he had received. He was given a second chance and awoke alive in the hospital. After 6-8 months of recovery he returned to the ministry, reported his visit to hell, sold every car and mansion and gave the money away. Now that is a genuine repentance. I dare Benny to do that.

However he may have just become a Christian recently. His ministry has been empowered historically by the demonic and I have treated two of his victims who were demonized at Benny Hinn conferences. His audience seems like the typical mindless yes-men we find throughout all areas of our culture. They are like paid audience extras on an infomercial selling the George Foreman Grill.

But would have much preferred God has answered my Ananias and Sapphira 2.0 prayer!

Note, this is the Spirit-Filled/Charismatic forum, non-members should not be teaching against or denouncing teachers that are considered such - as is Benny Hinn. As was noted in post #3, there is already a thread that is in the open forum if you would like to participate. That thread is HERE.

I heard that he has done this before, and only doing this because his nephew has been outspoken about his ministry as being in error.

I have seen several videos by the nephew 'Costi Hinn', self identified whistle blower, talking about what he says happens behind the scenes at BH ministries. Part of it was about the money, part about the doctrine and part about the healings, or alleged lack of them. If a fraction of what Costi Hinn said was true then it would be concerning. God Bless :)

The Holy Spirit can get through to anyone when they are listening. Praise God. I'm glad to hear him come forward with his change of mind. That said, I do believe God wants to bless us and prosper us but there is way more to it than "giving to get". I'm happy that God has blessed some people to the point that they are extremely rich, however, living a lavish lifestyle I don't think is a glory to God at all. Just my opinion though. I hope that other people with the prosperity gosplewill pay attention and hopefully look into their own heart and what they are preaching.

One thing I have always struggled to understand about some of the popular American tel-evangelists.

When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing. Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea. (Acts 8:39-40)

The Spirit of the Lord took Philip the deacon from his evangelistic meeting with the Ethiopian and moved him to Azotus. Wow, this is amazing.

There was a tel-evangelist on TV who went to heaven in a cable-car, gave God ideas on how he could do things better, hid behind the throne of God and eavesdropped on a conversation between God the Father and God the Son. This individual, Jesse Du Plantis, although he can travel to heaven on a spiritual cable car and tell God better ways to do things needs Fifty Four Million Dollars for a private jet to get around.

The Lord could move Philip the Deacon from one place to another. How come Jessue Du Plantis the Apostle needs a $54,000,000 private jet? As Jesse Du Plantis said:

“If the Lord Jesus Christ was physically on the earth today, he wouldn’t be riding a donkey,” he told his followers in a video posted on his site. “He’d be in an airplane flying all over the world.”

What tosh!

Has he never read how the resurrected Lord could move from one place to another?

:)
