But the whole story was a sham: The only “expert” cited by NBC in support of its key claim was the firm New Knowledge

It's a 30 paragraph article, and New Knowledge is only mentioned in the last two.

Old news. ETA: And wing2000 winged in before me.

Since Gabbard announced her intention to run on Jan. 11, there have been at least 20 Gabbard stories on three major Moscow-based English-language websites affiliated with or supportive of the Russian government: RT, the Russian-owned TV outlet; Sputnik News, a radio outlet; and Russia Insider, a blog that experts say closely follows the Kremlin line. The CIA has called RT and Sputnik part of "Russia's state-run propaganda machine."

All three sites celebrated Gabbard's announcement, defended her positions on Russia and her 2017 meeting with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad, and attacked those who have suggested she is a pawn for Moscow.
She is still a much better presidential candidate than Biden, Trump, Warren, and Harris.

Oops, I didn't scroll far enough. It's like 40 paragraphs, and it's mentioned in 3. More to the point, New Knowledge is not really the source of information about Russian propaganda.

NBC made its own analysis of the Russian propaganda sites RT & Sputnik.

NBC made its own analysis of the Russian propaganda sites RT & Sputnik.

So NBC just fired up it's Russian counter-intelligence team and had them pour through the data? You're kidding, right?

Do you honestly think that NBC did anything but have some editor look over the data from New Knowledge and say, "ok...this won't get us in trouble"?

I don't even believe NBC has a Russian counter intelligence team.

We are discussing [well ok, I am in post #16... your discussion of New Knowledge is nonresponsive to my point.] the public 'news' websites RT and Sputnik. NBC fired up its web browsers and looked at the stories promulgated by these sites that are Russian propaganda [source: CIA].

Here is the original New York Times article which reported on New Knowledge's Russian bot false flag:

It involved a scheme to link the Moore campaign to thousands of Russian accounts that suddenly began following the Republican candidate on Twitter, a development that drew national media attention.

“We orchestrated an elaborate ‘false flag’ operation that planted the idea that the Moore campaign was amplified on social media by a Russian botnet,” the report says.

Sorry, but once you brag about running a false flag Russian bot campaign we don't believe you the next time.

And as for RT America, and Sputnik, they are progressive. Of course they back folks like Tulsi.

But the claim that Russian bots revved up her search results, and made her trend on Twitter has little to do with RT.

Oh so it's the CIA classifying them as "pro-Tulsi Gabbard propaganda" and not NBC?

I must have missed that part of the article....can you quote it?

This remains irrelevant. My claim in post #16 does not rely on New Knowledge as a source.

And as for RT America, and Sputnik, they are progressive.

Sorry, comrade, the CIA says they are channels of Russian state propaganda. [Source: RT]

The CIA says these sites are Russian state propaganda.

NBC analysts noted the predominance of Tulsi stories in these channels.

The CIA says these sites are Russian state propaganda.

The CIA tortures, kills and destroys elections for giggles. And we already saw that the propaganda on Russian bots in one election was by New Knowledge.

And the "Russian" propaganda in 2016 were Podesta and the DNC's own emails. They were damning though.

Yeah, but the claim today was that Russian bots were to blame:

I don't care about 'the claim' today. My claim is outlined in post #16. If you want to address my claim, I will be happy to respond.

I didn't quote this originally, but it may be worthwhile to show the source of the above:

An NBC News analysis of the main English-language news sites employed by Russia in its 2016 election meddling shows Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, who is set to make her formal announcement Saturday, has become a favorite of the sites Moscow used when it interfered in 2016.

Why do you think they are "progressive"?

Because I have watched their programming.

And there is quite a bit of overlap between Russian anti-capitalism and some of the progressive talking points. Which I am sure is why Russia is happy to host them. But the folks on there are Americans. Including such names as Larry King, Jesse Ventura, Lee Camp, Ed Schultz (who claimed MSNBC was in the tank for Hillary and fired him for bias), etc.
