Elizabeth a woman of deep faith took England into many glorious years that changed the face of the nation.

Prayer of Elizabeth 1st

O Most Glorious King, and Creator of the whole world, to whom all things be subject, both in heaven and earth, and all best Princes most gladly obey. Hear the most humble voice of thy handmaid, in this only happy, to be so accepted. How exceeding is thy goodness, and how great mine offences. Of nothing hast thou made me not a worm, but a Creature according to thine own image, heaping all the blessings upon me that men on earth hold most happy. Drawing my blood from kings and my bringing up in virtue; giving me that more is, even in my youth knowledge of thy truth: and in times of most danger, most gracious deliverance: pulling me from the prison to the palace: and placing me a Sovereign Princess over thy people of England. And above all this, making me (though a weak woman) yet thy instrument, to set forth the glorious Gospel of thy dear Son Christ Jesus.

Thus in these last and worst days of the world, when wars and seditions with grievous persecutions have vexed almost all Kings and Countries, round about me, my reign hath been peaceable, and my realm a receptacle to thy afflicted church. The love of my people hath appeared firm, and the devices of mine enemies frustrate. Now for these and other thy benefits (O Lord of all goodness) what have I rendered to thee? Forgetfulness, unthankfulness and great disobedience. I should have magnified thee, I have neglected thee. I should have prayed unto thee, I have forgotten thee. I should have served thee, I have sinned against thee. This is my case.

Then where is my hope? If thou Lord wilt be extreme to mark what is done amiss, who may abide it? But thou art gracious and merciful, long suffering and of great goodness, not delighting in the death of a Sinner. Thou seest whereof I came, of corrupt seed: what I am, a most frail substance: where I live in the world full of wickedness: where delights be snares, where dangers be imminent, where sin reigneth, and death abideth.

This is my state. Now where is my comfort? In the depth of my misery I know no help (0 Lord) but the height of thy mercy, who hast sent thine only Son into the world to save sinners. This God of my life and life of my soul, the King of all comfort, is my only refuge. For his sake therefore, to whom thou hast given all power, and wilt deny no petition, hear my prayers. Turn thy face from my sins (0 Lord) and thine eyes to thy handiwork. Create a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me. Order my steps in thy word, that no wickedness have dominion over me, make me obedient to thy will, and delight in thy law. Grant me grace to live godly and to govern justly: that so living to please thee, and reigning to serve thee I may ever glorify thee, the Father of all goodness and mercy. To whom with thy dear Son, my only Saviour, and the Holy Ghost my Sanctifier, three persons and one God: be all praise, dominion and power, world without end.
Amen

Praying for the Church of Great Britain. Raise up the the John Wesleys, Oh Lord. Praying for Teresa May.

If anyone doubts what God Almighty can do for His people in terms of directing the actions of the enemy of His people, then consider 2 Chronicles, chapter 20.

Watchers on the wall.

Amen.
From this side of the pond, many faithful believers uphold Donald Trump in prayer.

Back in 2007 when I was praying for the upcoming presidential election, the Lord spoke about a seismic shift in British and US politics, and I also heard the following words. "The Lord has his trump card."

It made little sense at the time, but when Trump entered the campaign, I checked back on my notes and it fell into place.

Notwithstanding the recent earthquakes over there, both you and we in Britain are still in the middle of that seismic shift. I don't believe they are separate things.

You have just celebrated Independence Day, independence from us, and quite right too!

Please pray for us also, as Britain is in desperate need of its own Independence celebrations, but successive governments have been desperate to keep us yoked to the EU Babylon.
Dear Jesus, Yes. Thanks for posting. Very encouraging. Praying for Britannia. Praying for the Holy Spirit to be poured out on Britain leaders. Expecting it. Why? for another Great, international Awakening. other reasons as well.

The Word of the Lord spoke to my famiy in 2016, saying that if His Church cared enough to intercede for the nation, then He would turn the nation around for the good (paraphrasing). He said other things as well that turned my expectations around drastically and provided great hope. Most Christians I spoke with in that election cycle did not believe that we could gain such a victory in politics. I believed we could, however, and we did.

Listen closely saints, all great positive changes and revivals often start with just a few people. One Child of God--if they truly believe--can initiate a chain reaction. Look what Wesley accomplished in his day.

But what we must understand is that the chain reaction is not in the beginning conditioned upon the people of the nations--in their totality--doing rightly; rather, just upon a few people--in the beginning. Those few convert others to the cause. They teach, they instruct, changing minds and hearts. Then it builds from there.

There is no time for doubt. There is only a forward march. Daily renewal. Every day is a new beginning in Christ. Every day a day for bearing fruit by prayer or other means. God does not sleep. He is working round the clock, but if His people do not care enough to be the Salt and Light of the earth, then terrible things will happen.

And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed (Exodus 17:11). One man, Saints.

We must keep are staff up every day. God has made a way. We are passing through, with the wall of water on either side. God makes a way where natural eyes see no way. And so, we are called to walk not by sight, but by faith. In this we are brought into total dependence on Christ. But we are convinced that through our God, we can endure all things--every day being renewed in His love, His spirit, His power.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:30-31).

Amen and amen.

I was just meditating on this very verse below as I meditated on the "joy of the Lord" being our "strength" as we "journey on". That no matter what happens, we are "fueled" by God's "joy" which "strengthens" us to keep going.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint (Isaiah 40:30-31).

In "His" joy, we can continue on, praying as we journey on, and "soaring" as with the "wings of an eagle".

"the joy of the Lord is your strength." ~Neh 8:10

May His people, who are called by His name, stand-in for this country, all the people, and our President, as our prayers rise like incense before our God. Father may it be so, in Jesus name, amen.

Praying for Trump for wisdom. I also pray that the US political sphere will be less divisive in the next federal election, compared to previous federal election.
"I didn't come to bring peace, but a sword."

Trying to avoid division, just brings a directionless compromise and fudge.

Take abortion for instance, how do you avoid division there?
There is no middle ground with killing babies, either its fine and dandy, or its thoroughly evil.

Do you really think that pro-choicers could possibly agree a compromise with pro-lifers, perhaps a joint statement they can all agree on?

Obviously any reduction in abortion baby deaths is a welcome move, but the battle of truth should never slacken one iota

Abortionists and pro-lifers will always hold their ground, one against the other until the bitter end.
And that will always create division.

I an reluctant debate you as it is the wrong thread for this, however Time did produce an article on the Evangelical support on Trump which has good points and post a link to it. David French: Evangelicals Are Supporting Trump Out of Fear, Not Faith

1 Timothy 2:2 is important no matter who is president.

Nonsense.
I pray for Trump because of faith, not fear.
I had never even heard of the man until he entered the race, then I remembered God had given me a "word of knowledge" with the name Trump when I was praying for the USA back in 2007.

Remember, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ".

Well, the deep divisions on the election include race and 90% of Blacks voted for the Democrats, even though many of them are Christian. Two-thirds of Asians and Hispanics also voted for the Democrats. The Republican party has largely become a party of White Christians.

All the Trump rallies I see an overwhelming number of people in the crowd are White and it does not reflect the demographics of the USA.

I also have seen polls that race relations are not improving in the USA. It's a messy situation.

There are other divisions in the US in regards to the election but race comes in one of them.

Not interested in this thread's focus turning to something else. One reason to pray for Trump is because The Bible says to For your convenience, here's one "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;' I Timothy 2

Well, those are the divisions in American politics. Sure for a Christian Black person, they stand with the Biblical concept of marriage and are anti-abortion, however Blacks have higher poverty rates and are much more likely to go to prison than Whites, and for most of the other issues like that are really important to them and with that is why a large majority do not even vote for Trump. Even American Indians suffer from high poverty rates and massive social problems. That the same with Hispanics. Of course, many Whites are in poverty too and have massive social problems. With this, the US is the most unequal developed country in the world.

If Trump wants to attract more Black voters, American Indians, Hispanics, etc then progress needs to be done to really reduce the poverty in the USA.

Trump twitter attacks are a concern and personally attacking three women of colour and his opponents are rather strange, but President Lincon in the 1860s during the civil war never resorted to personally attacking his opponents. Sure the USA is divided now but not as divided as when Abraham Lincon was president, as then there was a civil war then and was the worst war the people of the US ever fought, and Lincon in his day when he was president would not make personal attacks on his opponents despite the pressure from supporters of him and his wife to do so, neither made personal attacks personal the Southerners and their leaders who were fighting against Lincon Union army. Even so, many many people stated many negative things about Lincon from the media in his day and how evil he was, just like many Democrats today denouncing Trump, Lincon, unlike Trump, personally attacked his opponents. Yet in time after the civil war ended, he was labelled a really great president.

I will pray for Trump, as the OP stated and for the USA.

Amen.
And that God gives him wise counsellors.
That those who serve Satan's objectives in US government circles would be exposed, and that the intentions of their evil schemes would fall on their own heads.
