"Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD." - Psalm 144:15

Maybe you remember all the news shots and photographs of former President Barak Obama, standing on the platform with his hands to his side while the National Anthem is being played. You probably have heard him say that patriotism is not in the wearing of the American Flag pin. He also said that... #D4Ldevotion #D4L #Christian

Saying "no" to tyranny.

A true Patriot knows their history and thus loves their country's embracing of the hard-fought rights and liberties that were won, through the blood, sweat, and tears of so many, who died defending the "right" for this country to be blessed with those rights and liberties, that we, as a nation, take for granted and stomp on, for the most part. That is what the flag represents, and it is represented under the living God, whom we honor and THANK for His grace in granting us those rights and freedoms.

As our Independence Day draws near, i meditate on our history, and how we won our liberties and freedoms, by the grace of God, and honor the flag, and those that fought and died to keep the flag standing at Fort McHenry and seen, as the smoke and mist cleared on that early morning, our flag, still standing, although tattered, still flying.

The bottom line, however, is that GOD kept the flag standing, as it waved triumphantly in the breeze, representing a "miracle" of a win against all odds, against the tyranny that surely would have been our downfall if God had not intervened.

May we always "remember" our history, and those who fought and died to say no to tyranny, and the God who gave us victory against a tsunami of "odds".

And as we see our flag, may we remember, and give due honor.

Thank you for this noble reminder of why we give due diligence to our flag and our history, on this breezy and sunny and hotter Tuesday morning in July, brother.

Our flag: saying "no" to tyranny with each wave.

God bless you.
