Abstinence, what a novel idea to prevent unplanned pregnancies.
But most men, married or not want sex. So if they don't get sex. Maybe, they will mind their own business. When it comes to the women's body.

Thing is...

The only women who are going to go along with this proposal are women who subscribe to specific "progressive" political and social causes.

In fact, when this whole claptrap first started a few days ago, a female politician was quick to promote this on her Twitter account. In short order, her feed was being spammed by female libertarians and conservatives declaring that in response to the boycott they were going to go out and have *more* sex in order to have more libertarian and conservative children in the world.

Cue other individuals, myself included, noting that while most of the above individuals might well have been joking, sex boycotts like the one Milano is calling for will only work to prevent "progressive" types from having children, setting the stage for an eventual surge of first-time voters from libertarian and conservative families.

In other words, the more people call for sex boycotts, the more progressivism as a political ideology will be bred out in America.

Great idea. They're going to have a kid just to make liberal heads explode.

A Hollywood man will just get another woman if the strike goes on too long. Many others will "mind their own business" while a woman is nowhere to be had. A mature Christian can take sex or leave it. It is only the men who live for sex and can be manipulated by their desire for it that can be influenced by this. So maybe she is doing them a favour by giving them opportunities for prayer.

As a woman I am so sick and tired of the militant women who are bent on erasing every ounce of femininity from females.
Sad thing is so many follow blindly.

Bless you dear Lady.

My wife the Saint,
stands with you.

The premise is that women should be granted total autonomy over their bodies, I don't disagree. But that is another person living in that womb, should we dismiss the natural rights of that person? In the first trimester everything that defines us as human is working.

If that were the case, we'd just deliver 1st trimester babies and solve the problem. But we can't - which tells me there's something wrong with what you're asserting here.

Obviously I don't consider viability outside the womb to be a suitable legal definition.

Our reproductive rights are being erased. Until women have legal control over our own bodies we just cannot risk pregnancy. JOIN ME by not having sex until we get bodily autonomy back. I’m calling for a #SexStrike. Pass it on.

It's really kind of hilarious. She is calling for abstinence to protest abortion. LOL.

Yeah, well, that will solve the abortion problem if we could get people to keep their clothes on and only have sex with those to whom they are married and willing to have a family.

Historically the overwhelming majority of men have died virgins. Unless you think male peasants and slaves were able to marry and have tons of sex. Most men may want sex but they do without it unlike women.

Yeah, she's kind of shooting herself in the foot here, but this isn't the first time.

Yeah. If your lady is prochoice, I would wager that it is quite likely that you are also prochoice. Now that's DEFINITELY not a given, but I'd wager thta is more likely than the opposite.

I think that it sounds like a "natural and logical" form of protest, but I'm not sure as a concept, it makes sense.

Are you saying since women don't want sex. Therefore they have no sacrifice in abstaining from it? Further, do you find the idea of making men comply with the wishes of women through sexual blackmail to be a good path to equality of the sexes? Finally, does that not put unattractive women in a position of inferiority to attractive women and once again leave men as the arbiters of the female hierarchy?

Sure, there are lots of arbitrary measures one can make up, but none of that changes the fact that a 1st trimester fetus isn't the same as an actual born person.

I don't like the slippery slope either way, now Alabama has passed a bill on a full ban on abortion. That seems destined to end up in the Supreme Court if it gets signed into law. When I looked into this years ago I learned that at 11 weeks the fetus has every thing that defines us as human functioning, rudimentary to be sure but at that point that fetus is now human. I'm not going to equivocate that with a fully mature adult or even a viable new born but I'm not going to dismiss this human embryo as a gob of goo either.

You have to draw that line somewhere, for me it's the first trimester.

Of course peasants and slaves were allowed to marry and have sex. Where do you get the idea that they werent?

Where do you think they got more peasants and slaves from?
