The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I've been far down the path of suicide. Hope is real and it will get you out if you let it take you. Never forget that.Been having suicidal thoughts today, still feeling depressed. If you could pray for me.
Have you seen a therapist?Been having suicidal thoughts today, still feeling depressed. If you could pray for me.
Take your meds.
I've been in these forums enough to come to see that in this particular forum generally speaking people posting as the OP has generally have a history already. My post was meant as a reminder not to demoralize. If unacquainted people to this problem suddenly feel suicidal it goes more like "I don't know what has come over me" and they post in places like Christian advice. Thanks for pointing out my flaw but it was merely meant as a reminder if they had not taken the meds.Your response is dehumanizing. Does the mind belong to psychiatry and psychiatrists, or to God? Medication will heal the mind, albeit with a man-made solution, but it will not mend the Spirit, and it is very important to differentiate between the two and know which one is superior. Unless we wish to make psychiatry an idol.

I've come in here in the past and given lengthy spiritual advice and today others already covered some of that. At first I would not realize even what forum I was in.I've learned from experience both with myself and others that the suicidally depressed are simultaneously some of the farthest from God's Light and the most yearning of God's Light, even if they don't realize it yet. I worry about them getting discouraged; there's a degree of humbleness in genuine depression that if nurtured can allow something good to come out of it. I'm glad you remind them. I'm fairly new here and I'm taking a bit of today to get acquainted.

So do I. Hang on, friend. Your struggles are not all that unusual. Many of us have them, too.I am taking my meds. I just get bouts of depression now and again.
Have you seen a therapist?
If so, are you following the treatment plan, including necessary meds, set up for you?
