• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Praying for you. Please get help. If you can't feel God, imagine Christ holding you and telling you "I will never let you go", and let His love in. It's what I do when I can't see anything else clearly, I focus on the goodness of Christ. God bless you dear brother.

Been having suicidal thoughts today, still feeling depressed. If you could pray for me.
I've been far down the path of suicide. Hope is real and it will get you out if you let it take you. Never forget that.

I am praying for you.

I've been there. Tomorrow is another day. Hang on because it will pass with time. God loves you! Think on positive things, think on Jesus. There is no problem that can't be solved. Replace your thoughts with positives in your life. Keep your eyes on God, he has his on you.
As someone suggested, find someone to talk to.
God bless you and keep you!

Have you seen a therapist?

If so, are you following the treatment plan, including necessary meds, set up for you?

Take your meds.

Your response is dehumanizing. Does the mind belong to psychiatry and psychiatrists, or to God? Medication will heal the mind, albeit with a man-made solution, but it will not mend the Spirit, and it is very important to differentiate between the two and know which one is superior. Unless we wish to make psychiatry an idol.

I've been in these forums enough to come to see that in this particular forum generally speaking people posting as the OP has generally have a history already. My post was meant as a reminder not to demoralize. If unacquainted people to this problem suddenly feel suicidal it goes more like "I don't know what has come over me" and they post in places like Christian advice. Thanks for pointing out my flaw but it was merely meant as a reminder if they had not taken the meds.

I've learned from experience both with myself and others that the suicidally depressed are simultaneously some of the farthest from God's Light and the most yearning of God's Light, even if they don't realize it yet. I worry about them getting discouraged; there's a degree of humbleness in genuine depression that if nurtured can allow something good to come out of it. I'm glad you remind them. I'm fairly new here and I'm taking a bit of today to get acquainted.

I've come in here in the past and given lengthy spiritual advice and today others already covered some of that. At first I would not realize even what forum I was in.

Welcome aboard !

Will pray, Anx. What helps me are brief, simple prayers, that can be repeated quietly.

"Jesus, King of Love, I trust in Your Merciful Goodness", has helped me a lot. Brings the mind off of self and pain, and back on to Christ.

Please don't feel bad. No matter who you are, where you're at in life, or what you do or don't do for a living, God has called you to love and be loved by Him, and follow Christ. You can do that where you are.

I saw a therapist about 10 years ago, and was under a Psychiatrist for a long time, but this has all dried up. I do however still take my meds.

A meditation which helps me, is to picture Christ, crucified, in my heart. Picture His Wounds, His Face, His Love. In the Catholic Church, we have a devotion to His Heart as the fountain of God's merciful and sacrificing Love. Focusing on Christ, His Love, His Sacrifice, gives me courage to love Him back, carry on, and keep going. Christ is worth it. And Heaven will be worth it, too.

Same here my friend. Its a horrible ride of high and low waves, mountains and valleys, ups and downs.

Offer up your suffering to God for others. Trust in God whatever you go through.

God bless and protect you
