Wow, now I understand the OP. Seems you are confused as per the doctrine of Jesus Christ in General. I agree it's not "THE SECOND COMING" per se, Jesus came back after going to Heaven to offer his Sacrifice and stayed 40 days. Jesus is in our midst when two or more are gathered together, but the Second Coming JUDGMENT being nigh is scriptural brother. And the Holy word shows us it is upon us at this very time. Below I will detail it where no one can deny it !! It is called being able to see the signs of the times. Jesus stated we would know the signs. The days of Noah, the Fig Tree parable etc. etc. says that we will know the season.

One hundred years ago in 1917 there was not one single, tangible, measurable sign that indicated we were living in the season of the Lord’s return. The first to appear was the Balfour Declaration which was issued by the British government later in that year, on November 2, 1917.

The declaration was prompted by the fact that during World War I the Turks sided with the Germans. And thus, when Germany lost the war, so did the Turks, and the victorious Allies decided to divide up both the German and Turkish empires. The Turkish territories, called the Ottoman Empire, contained the ancient homeland of the Jewish people, an area the Romans had named Palestine after the last Jewish revolt in 132 AD. Now, what most people do not realize is that in 1917 Palestine included all of modern day Israel and Jordan. And in the scheme the Allies concocted for dividing up the German and Turkish territories, Britain was allotted Palestine. This decision is what prompted the Balfour Declaration. In that document, Lord Balfour, the British Foreign Secretary, declared that it was the intention of the British government to establish in Palestine quote, “a national home for the Jewish people.”

The leading Evangelical Christian spokesman in England at the time was a man by the name of F. B. Meyer. He immediately recognized the prophetic significance of the declaration, for he was aware that the Scriptures prophesy that the Jewish people will be regathered to their homeland in unbelief right before the return of the Messiah. Meyer sent out a letter to the Evangelical leaders of England asking them to gather in London in mid-December to discuss the prophetic implications of the Balfour Declaration. In that letter, he stated, “The signs of the times point toward the close of the time of the Gentiles and the return of Jesus can be expected any moment.”

Since the time of the Balfour Declaration in 1917, we have witnessed throughout the 20th Century the appearance of sign after sign pointing to the Lord’s soon return. There are so many of these signs in fact, that one would have to be either biblically illiterate or spiritually blind not to realize that we are living on borrowed time. There are six categories of End Time Signs:

1.) The First Category of End Time Signs is The Signs of Nature. In Luke 21:11, Jesus mentioned this category when He said: “And there will be great earthquakes.

2.) The Second Category of End Time Signs is The Signs of Society. Paul mentioned this category of signs in 2 Timothy 3.

3.) The Third Category of End Time Signs is The Spiritual Signs. There are more signs in this category than any other. Many are evil in nature, but there are also some very positive ones. Concerning the negative signs, a typical passage is the following one found in 2 Timothy 4.

4.) The Fourth Category of End Time Signs is The Signs of World Politics. Jesus mentioned that category in Matthew 24 when He said: “You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. For nations will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.”

5.) The Fifth Category of Signs is The Signs of Technology. Jesus mentioned this sign in Luke 21 when He said: “Men will faint from fear over the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” Daniel chapter 12 also mentions this.

6.) The Sixth Category of Signs is The Signs of Israel. An example of such signs can be found in Zechariah 12:3 where it says: “And it shall come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; and all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.”

The signs that relate to Israel are the most important of all because the Jews are God’s prophetic time clock. What I mean by this is that the Scriptures will often tie a prophesied future event with something that will happen to the Jews. We are told to watch the Jews, and when the prophesied event concerning them occurs, we can be sure that the other prophesied event will also occur.

An example can be found in Luke 21:24 where Jesus prophesied that the Jews would be dispersed from Jerusalem and be led captive among all the nations. But, then He added that one day they would return to re-occupy Jerusalem, and when that happens, the end time events will occur that will lead to His return. There are many, many prophecies concerning the Jews in the end times, many of which began to be fulfilled in the 20th Century, but there are four key ones. The first is their worldwide regathering in unbelief which you can read about in Isaiah 11.

In 1900 there were only 40,000 Jews in Palestine. By the end of World War II their number had risen to 600,000. Today, there are more than six and a half million who have come from all over the world.

Okay, I have summarized for you six different categories of signs, each category containing many prophecies concerning the end times, all of which are being fulfilled before our very eyes. Let me conclude now by specifically listing 50 of those prophecies:

1. Increasing instability of nature.
2. Increasing lawlessness and violence.
3. Increasing immorality.
4. Increasing materialism.
5. Increasing Hedonism.
6. Increasing influence of Humanism.
7. Depraved entertainment.

Folks, this list could be greatly expanded, but the 50 examples I’ve just given you should be sufficient to show that we are living in the season of the Lord’s return. The Bible clearly teaches that God never pours out His wrath without warning for He is a just and loving God who does not wish that any should perish. That’s why He has provided so many signs to alert us to the fact that we are living on the threshold of the Tribulation.

Believe it or not, after listing all those signs of the times, I still have not mentioned the most important sign of all. Collectively, the Signs of Israel are the most important category. But there is one sign that does not fit into any category because it overreaches all the categories, and it is the most important sign of all. What I have in mind is the Sign of Convergence; the fact that all the signs are converging for the first time ever.

Folks, the bottom line message of all these signs is that we are living on borrowed time. And the crucial question for every human being is Are you ready? Are you ready for the return of Jesus? Will He come as your Blessed Hope or your Holy Terror? It will be one or the other, for God is determined to deal with sin, and He does so with either grace or wrath.

And again, keep this within my context. Either this is going to happen because the saints are so influential that the world accepts their judgements of right and wrong, (the saints shall judge the world.) Hi a nation or people get the leaders that come from within and the 7 mountain mandate you speak of indirectly has been shifted to a world view that is embracing doctrines of demons instead of a righteousness based on Godly fear and convictions. We can see that at this point in many places a man who would run for Senate in CA, NY, and many other places would have no chance to win because the moral climate of the public has been corrupted and they oppose the truth if Biblical wisdom and morality. This did not happen because of any eschatological divide but by the tactics of Balaam. If we look at the path America took to get to where we are politically and morally they are one and the same. They corrupted the culture and infiltrated the centers of learning and media that have influence and incrementally steered society into a culture that is as the culture in the days of Noah and Lot. The gospel is the same for you and I and only a change in the moral world view will create a population that would vote for a moral man. The understanding of a future tribulation of 7 years and then the return of Christ does not produce a lethargy in most churches who hold to it. The application I see taught is to redeem the time and share the LORD and do not be conformed to this world. There is no mind set that is lets just sit on the sidelines and wait to get taken out.

The evidence shows a world lined up exactly as the futurist believe with Israel as a nation again and prepared to resume the daily sacrifices which are a critical element for the mid point of the 7 year tribulation which will be the abomination of desolation. Bush senior who died is famous for talking about the NWO openly and he is quoted many times as saying the NWO will fulfill the mandate and vision of the founders of the UN. At the UN they have inside a thing called the UN earth charter. This is a set of principals for world government. It was largely written by Gorbachov and they built a new age ark of the covenant and placed it inside and carried it on poles just like the real ark and placed it inside. This symbolism is blasphemous and very telling. This is the new commandment for the world with the authority as it were from God. You mention Dan 7 and you see the kingdom does not come until the one speaking pompous words and persecuting the saints is put down and one like the son of man comes and victory is given to the saints to possess the kingdom. This pompous one is given a times times and half a time before he is dealt with. Rev 13 shows the antichrist getting power over the whole earth for 42 months which is the same amount of time Dan 7 refers too.

This passage takes a literal view of Rev 13 and the 42 months when the beast get power and enforces the mark of the beast. In Dan 7 when teh Son of man comes the pompous one is given to the flame and the rest of the beasts lose their authority but their lives are prolonged for a season and time. In Rev we see the angel proclaim the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our LORD and His Christ and He shall rule forever. In Zech 14 we see the day that the LORD is pronounced king over all the earth. This day Jerusalem is being overrun and the LORD comes from heaven with His saints and the MT of Olives splits in two and a new river will flow year round. The LORD destroys many that day and of those who are left life continues as the nations must now keep the feast of tabernacles or they will get no rain. This is teh 2nd coming the downfall of antichrist and the beginning of the kingdom age.

The whole of scripture spoke of an age of promise where circumstances in nations were such that believers could gain the opportunity to have the earthly promises of God made to a thousand generations of saints fulfilled in their lives. False prophecy that by its very nature is designed to stifle the personal development necessary in individuals to enable them to accomplish all of Gods purposes in their lives. Which is service capable of overcoming evil in powerful places and grows the moral and free world. But false prophecy, just as it is designed to do, has robbed the vast majority of Gods people of the scriptural vision of the future necessary to personally developed in such a way as to be even remotely capable of doing ones part in Christ to crush the evils of our generation with good. To be that mountain of influence that is higher than all the mountains in the earth. Instead the Biblically illiterate application of the end time prophecies of the Old Covenant Age and the Age of the Four Gentile Empires to this Age of Promise as some kind of an end of the world apocalyptic scenario has caused Gods people to spiritually, intellectually and physically retreat into a false hope that Jesus will come some day and set up a physical\visible kingdom. Which of course requires nothing on their part to bring to pass.

Yet the world God did envision in his Word, prophesy about and promise requires everything from his people and those who ally themselves with them to bring to pass. It is his providence at work. We can accept the truth and the sure prophetic word of scripture and work with that. Or, we can accept false prophecy in the guise of pop culture end time teachings and reap what we sow. The wicked will reign and rule over us and seize the inheritance of the saints, which is this world, for themselves. Now I'm not saying Gods plan will fail. But I am saying he will just let generations die in the wilderness until he finds some that will trust him , trust his Word and work with him to enter into that promised land.

I agree that false prophecy is, quite often, modern prophecy interpretations. However, it is also much else.

For instance, the world believes many false prophecies, via their expectations of science, and their largely atheistic world views.

I would also challenge you, in regards to believing the reign of Christ has already begun.

The problem with adding and taking away from Revelation happens at exactly this juncture. But, it has also been a problem since the first century. As the Beast has been around, all along.

Technically, the Beast is identified after the fall of Rome, but Rome remains an intrinsic part of the Beast. It is the iron in the feet of clay and iron, just as we now know that Rome was the iron calves of the statue of Nebuchadnezzar.

Humans and their ways will not bring fulfillment of the promises.

It comes from God, Jesus returning with untold numbers of Angels.

This certainly has not happened, yet.

And that is the crux of the problem: people worship the world, via the beast, by saying, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war with the beast?" The Kingdom of God can, that is who.

But, instead of looking to that salvation, from Heaven, they did as Abraham did with Hagar.

It is unfortunate that Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles, and his teachings have so rarely been applied by people personally, and to their own groups.

God exiled the Christians into metaphoric Babylon, the religious establishment. They are as the religious establishment during the times of Jesus.

Fact:
He is the now ruling king:

"Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth" (Rev 1:5)

"Jesus Christ, who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers have been made subject to him" (1 Peter 3:22)

To address your supposed conundrum, Jesus, the God-King, has chosen by his sovereign will to allow the wicked to continue alongside the righteous in his kingdom: "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away. But when the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the tares became evident also. The slaves of the landowner came and said to him, `Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?' And he said to them, `An enemy has done this!' The slaves said to him, `Do you want us, then, to go and gather them up?' But he said, `No; for while you are gathering up the tares, you may uproot the wheat with them. `Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn. (Matt 13:24-30)

He his converting people out of the pagan world of unbelief and transferring them into his kingdom ("He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son" - Col 1:13). He is making these converts the salt and light of the world and the city on the hill--as man is intended to be. He is redeeming them.

Jesus has chosen to allow the present history of his kingdom to admit sinners, and to convert many of them from evil to good. But for sure, even in this permission, Jesus is ruling over all kings and men TODAY (Daniel 4:25,34-35; Ps. 22:28; Dan 2:20-21).

That is demonstrably untrue, both scripturally and historically.

Jesus started with just 12 men. Israel was a tiny plot of land, and was the only land that had any knowledge of Jehovah whatsoever. Certainly we're doing a lot better than back then, wouldn't you say? Christianity has been a global revolution that is the world's leading religion and shows no sign of going away. So, remember, you're on a winning team here!

The globe is infinitely better off than it was 2000 years ago. Because of Christianity, the knowledge of God is no longer geographically and tribally restricted. Christianity takes the covenant and extends it everywhere. And, everywhere Christianity is accepted, paganism is defeated. The world, because of the powers of the Cross and Christ's rulership, has become improved and will continue to become improved according to God's sovereign determination.

I always fall back on Isaiah 9:7
"Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this."

Even in the midst of the world around me today, I believe the government of Jesus Christ is destined to increase forever. When lamenting on how bad you believe the world is getting, think about what it must have been like in the dark ages...think about what it was like to be a peasant in the middle ages..think about what it must have been like to have lived during the plague...and even recently, think about what it was like to be a Jew in Germany in WW2, or think about what is was like to have polio before Jonas Salk came along....

We can go on and on about how much better the earth is today, thanks to the ever spreading of Christianity. why, there is zero persecution of Christianity in the western hemisphere today, China and the Middle East are next. Nations rise and fall, and because we are stuck in the middle of our own range of perception, we can easily get caught up (no pun intended) in thinking ours is the worst ever, but a quick survey of the History of Humanity, redily dispels that notion. The Church remains, ever triumphant, ups and downs to be sure, for in this world we have tribulation, but nothing can stop the Church from her destiny, to subdue the earth.

There is no "use by" or "expiration" date to the Gospel, for it is everlasting.

Even in the New heavens and earth, the "final prophesied state" we see those inside the city calling out to those outside who thirst, to "come, drink freely of the water of Life" "the Gates of the city remain open forever to accept the wealth that the nations and kingdoms forever bring into her.

The goal is none other than that every man of every nation, through the power of the Gospel, attain unto that for which mankind was created: To love God with all his heart, soul and mind, and his neighbor as himself (Matt. 22:37-39; Mk. 12:30-31; Lk. 10:27-28). We must not think that the continued existence of sin on earth invalidates the possibility or the perfection of the realization of that goal.

I am fully confident in the fact that whatever the conquering Savior pleases to do, He does, on earth as in heaven (Ps. 135:6). And when we consider the divine eternality of the Church on earth and her progressive divine dominion, we know that her future, and hence the future of humanity, will be filled to overflowing with innumerable blessings which are even now utterly impossible for us to grasp. For what wonders will God work in and through His more-than-conquering Church after 10,000 years of ecclesiastical progress, or after 1,000,000 years of victory? Only God can know (Eccl. 3:11). What we do know is that in Christ Jesus our Creator and our Redeemer, the future of mankind on earth under His dominion will surely be "exceeding abundantly" and incomprehensibly wonderful....

"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, unto him be glory in the Church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen" (Eph. 3:20-21).

Chemotherapy, Radiation & Surgical advances for cancer have grown exponentially and continue on that trend... mental health treatment and understanding has only grown... the raw metrics for a world that is getting better and better are definable, recordable and demonstrable.

Does it ebb and flow... of course, but Christianity is in it's infancy... imagine what this world will look like after 2000 more years of victory? or 20,000?

If it's getting progressively worse today than anytime before, you should be able to point to a time in History when the world was a better place than it is today.

You don't have to pinpoint a day, a specific year will do.
