The pay, even at the lowest level, is higher than what is considered to be low pay in the private sector.

What private sector do you work in? $18,785/yr is $9.03/hr. That's below minimum wage in many states and only barely above it in a lot of others.

Feinstein is a senator. Pelosi has already tod Trump there aren't votes, even among the GOP.

This has been getting laughs all over twitter. tho according to rawstory, they only need 80.00 per Trump voter to get to 5 bil.

A lot of folks are laughing at it, deservedly so. I did too, at first. I see it as sad now on account of finding out that folks living below the poverty line plan to donate when their pay comes in. They've been gaslighted into believing the wall could go up, that the wall would solve their own problems in life, even if the problems have got little to nothing to do with the issue. It's a great big distraction. It's as pitiful as when hungry folks spend their money on lottery tickets instead of food.

Only because the minimum wage was raised in many places due to protests. But as predicted, $15 is the new $7.50. People who now get $15 an hour start complaining that they're still working a crummy minimum wage job.

It seems that there are plenty of people who are willing to put up their own money that wasn't taxed to get the job done.
Good for them. If they can pay for it themselves they can build whatever they like out in the desert.

Click the link, and look at the amount raised so far, and then refresh it after about 15 minutes. I just did that and the amount went up over $200,000 in that time. It's a sign that it's not just Trump that wants the wall. These people are voting with their wallets.

He would be unique in politics then?
The Congress, when it passes a budgetary measure the Executive has already said he would refuse to sign, have made a promise they can't actually deliver on.
Why does the Congress refuse to compromise over such a relatively tiny percentage of the spending?
Give the President something he wants in exchange for something Congress wants. That is how this is supposed to work. The Congress wants to avoid a shut down and take their vacation immediately. The President wants a wall. The Congress doesn't care about a wall and the President doesn't care about a shutdown or having Congress get their vacation. Compromise seems like a no brainer to me.
That's a lot of words just to say screw anyone it inconveniences just so the president can look good to his sycophantic supporters.

Yes, people were protesting because $7.25/hr today is a sad joke, particularly considering how much it costs to live in some areas.

The $7.25/hr minimum wage came into effect in July 2009. If it had been indexed to inflation, it would be about $8.49, which is not all that much below that lowest GS-1 level.

People who now get $15 an hour start complaining that they're still working a crummy minimum wage job.

While they may still be complaining, they can at least now pay some more of their bills.

A fool & his money are soon parted. Thanks for telling us about a good way of keeping track of foolishness.

Now, if you want to see the total number of folks contributing to that as a way of voting with their wallets, then you also need to think about how many will not waste a dime of their money on it. I'm willing to bet you there's more folks laughing their butts off at the ones contributing to the GoFundMe than there are folks who've contributed.

And if people didn't donate, then you'd say they were hypocrites. Whatever.

More than 7.5 million in just 3 days in increments of $10-$100 amounts to quite a few people.

Nope, I'd call them folks with some sense in them.

Thanks for proving my point, buddy. That's a fraction of the number of folks & a fraction of the amount spent on lottery tickets every single week.

Maybe that's because 3 days is only a fraction of a week.

I agree that Congress doesn’t care about a wall but that the President wants a wall. However, it isn’t just a matter of a simple compromise. A wall to help enforce anti-immigration is the specific issue. If a few thousand of a caravan is allowed in, might that eventually lead to millions more?

Smh, dude. OK, in 3 days time there are more folks who've spent more on lottery tickets than who've spent on the fantasy wall.

Many millions have already come in over the years. Now they use that to make it sound as if up to 10,000 people in a caravan is no big deal.

Then your point is that the lottery is foolish and the wall is not? Ok. Nobody ever said that those who spend big money on the lottery were the smart ones. It's often called the "idiot tax", since revenue from it goes for tax relief.

Lol, nope. You sure did miss the point.

Maybe GoFundMe ought to call the money they're raking in from folks who are donating for the wall "idiot fees" then. Thanks for reminding us of how the lottery money at least goes towards a useful purpose.

There were not "allowed in" and they did not over run the existing security infrastructure at the port of entry.

Is the tax money that goes for Border Patrol an "idiot fee" according to you?

Are you under the impression that tax money for Border Patrol comes from GoFundMe campaigns? Lol, ok.
