Last night the Senate passed a bill to keep the government funded until February. Today the House was expected to pass it as well.

Trump lashes out as House struggles with avoiding shutdown.

With last-minute efforts to avert a government shutdown in disarray, the White House suggested Thursday that President Donald Trump is not onboard with a critical spending agreement because it lacks billions of dollars for “steel slats or a wall” at the Mexican border.

Trump himself lashed out at Republican leaders on Twitter after speaking by telephone with GOP House Speaker Paul Ryan. Then Trump’s press secretary issued a statement saying the president “does not want to go further without border security,” including money for the wall.

As House Republicans struggled to find the votes to pass the legislation ahead of a midnight Friday deadline, Trump started blaming GOP leaders for failing to deliver on the $5 billion he had demanded for the wall.

“I was promised the Wall and Border Security by leadership,” Trump tweeted shortly after calling Ryan during a morning meeting of House Republicans. “Would be done by end of year (NOW). It didn’t happen! We foolishly fight for Border Security for other countries – but not for our beloved U.S.A. Not good!”

Willing to bet you this is on account of Trump's fragile as heck ego getting busted up by his buddies on Fox & Friends being disappointed with him. I think he'd be perfectly willing to let folks suffer over Christmas on account of him not getting the toy he wants.

Suffer? We are talking about a government shutdown hardly any suffering going on there. Some few bureaucrats might be slightly inconvenienced by having an unplanned vacation they will not be immediately paid for but calling that suffering when there are people in excruciating pain or under the intense deprivation of abject poverty in the world is insulting to those people.

Well folks who'd be impacted by that sure don't see it that way. If you want to talk about insulting, it's the gaslighting being farted out acting like it wouldn't hurt folks when it surely would.

Why should anyone be inconvenienced in any way just so Trump can save face?

He should learn not to promise things he can't actually deliver.

The temporary spending bill pushes the next deadline to Feb. 8, at which time Feinstein will be leading the House. Not much chance of getting the funding over what could have been gotten at the present time.

Who are these folks you are speaking of that would suffer so gravely from the dreaded government shutdown? ? I have yet to hear the tragic stories of those that suffered so greatly from the past government shutdowns. Please supply us with the information of who and how greatly they will suffer.

Or sometime over the past two years.

This is like the kid who slacked off the entire semester and is only now trying to cram right before the big midterm exam tomorrow.

There's plenty of folks who are in low-paid government jobs already struggling with supporting their families. You do realize that there are janitors, security guards & other low-wage earners who'd be impacted by this, correct? Government subsidized grocery stores for military families would be impacted too.

Jeepers. I can't believe you even need to ask the question. Smh.

He should learn not to promise things he can't actually deliver.

He would be unique in politics then?
The Congress, when it passes a budgetary measure the Executive has already said he would refuse to sign, have made a promise they can't actually deliver on.
Why does the Congress refuse to compromise over such a relatively tiny percentage of the spending?
Give the President something he wants in exchange for something Congress wants. That is how this is supposed to work. The Congress wants to avoid a shut down and take their vacation immediately. The President wants a wall. The Congress doesn't care about a wall and the President doesn't care about a shutdown or having Congress get their vacation. Compromise seems like a no brainer to me.

I can't believe what you think passes for suffering and that you believe there is such a thing as a low -paid government job.

Then maybe take a little time to read. This stuff isn't hard to find.

Well the folks who actually work those low-wage government jobs & actually would suffer from a government shutdown have no problem believing that reality at all.

Nor do all the people who work in related business, either supported by tourism, federal employees working in proximity, or federal contracts.

Feinstein is a senator. Pelosi has already tod Trump there aren't votes, even among the GOP.

It seems that there are plenty of people who are willing to put up their own money that wasn't taxed to get the job done. Click here to support We The People Will Fund The Wall organized by Brian Kolfage

This has been getting laughs all over twitter. tho according to rawstory, they only need 80.00 per Trump voter to get to 5 bil.
