Thanks Doug. Nice story, i enjoyed reading it.Recently my Pastor asked me if I would lead a Bible study in our church.
The first passage I took was Psalm 1.
The first time we managed to get halfway through the 2nd verse in an hour and a half.
Last week we made it to the first part of verse 3.
"He shall be planted by the rivers of water."
I made the point that "planted" means a conscious action. Then one of the guys said, "Nobody consciously plants a tree next to a river because of possible erosion".
I did some research and there are only a few trees that can survive being planted by a river.
This certain tree has to be able to withstand a lot of moisture.
To me, that just shows how truthful God's Word is. When the illustrations in the Bible don't seem right, upon careful consideration we find out that God's Word is correct.
btw, I named our Bible study, "Word Eaters" based on Jeremiah 15:16 .
