• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I have been Bulimic since I was 10 years old. I was sexually abused at 9 years old by my mothers new partner. He sexually abused me until I was 16 years old until I left home. My mother also abused me. My mother died 12 years ago at the age of 62. She died from Alzhiemers disease. She suffered greatly for the last 10 years of her life. Though she hurt me I still prayed with her. I was able to forgive her. I am still bulimic and I have no control over it. It is part of who I am now. It is all I know. My step-father is still alive but serving 16 years in prison for what he did to me. He was sentenced this year in May 2018. He is now 77 years old. He will probably spend the rest of his life in prison. I have no idea how to eat a normal meal anymore. I prefer to eat soups and soft foods. I don't like that full feeling when you have had too much to eat. That's when I am sick. God is with me in my struggle because it is the norm to me. I don't know any different. Being Bulimic is my life now. I can control it.

Blessings in Christ Jesus! The Bible says that, "what a man believes in his heart, so he is." Every one that is truly born from above(Born again) is a new creation in Christ Jesus. "The old has passed away, and all things become new." This includes you. Take hold of His Promises, and believe them, and then pronounce them out loud. And when you eat, pray a prayer of thanksgiving for what you are about to eat, for there are many, that hunger for food, in this world. I am sorry that you have had to suffer so much as a young child but know that he Lord is faithful, faithful to heal all your wounds, and in time, replace them with joy, joy unspeakable. And a peace, that surpasses understanding. And how do I know this? He did it for me. And He will do it for you.

Thank you very much. I am a new creation in Christ but with me I fetched Bulimia and I am sure our Lord doesnt like that because I couldn't let go of it. I know God can heal me but I am scared to let go.
