“Do you believe that gay sex is a perversion?”

He also wanted to know exactly what Pompeo thought about same-sex marriage.

Booker’s line of questioning is simply astounding—and inappropriate.

He presumes, almost out of thin air, to set a new non-negotiable standard for anyone who wants to hold executive office: You must be completely on board with same-sex marriage, you must affirm gay sex, and you must espouse these convictions openly.

This kind of thought policing is becoming a trend for politicians on the left.

Last year, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., treated Russ Vought with similar hostility in his confirmation hearing to be deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget. Sanders asked Vought, a Christian, if he stood by his past statements about salvation and final judgment—then excoriated him when he refused to recant his orthodox Christian beliefs.

Well, if the United States during President Obama's administration has officially pushed countries to accept gay stuff, where a country's culture forbids it or has not actively supported it, then it would be of interest what an official believes about gay marriage, since this could effect how the U.S. now relates about this subject with other countries.

And Jesus says to expect rejection if we are right. He even says to rejoice, which I would think means not be getting upset and letting our attention be under the power and control of wrong people. So, whoever is right is rejoicing because we have the honor of being rejected for being right, right????

But we have an interesting situation, then, how a number of people pro-gay are being upset, while the ones opposing them also are not rejoicing. So, they have something in common, then!!

There's a right way to be right.

And, by the way, if you are a politician, you can get a large bloc of votes, simply by saying you are for or against what certain people treasure. You do not have to care one whit about the people who treasure some pleasure; just say you are for it, and you have most or all of their votes.

For example, a lot of people treasure money - - which can get them various pleasures; and money has no conscience to meddle with what you want to do. So, if you promise people money, by some means, you've got quite a lot of votes, whether you do what you say or not.

God will do better than we want, while we obey how He takes care of us. And if you try to control worldly people, it will be interesting.

But we have how "God resists the proud", in James 4:6 and also in 1 Peter 5:5. God is resisting the people who are wrong; and His resistance is effective . . . against those who treasure foolish pleasures, and against those who self-righteously look down on and try to control others.

God's way of sexuality reproduces "godly offspring" > Malachi 2:15. But there are plenty of people who use sexual parts merely for pleasure which they treasure. They are not about becoming examples who can feed their children how to be like Jesus and how to relate in love in marriage the way the Bible says to relate.

And their children do not know how to love; so they are desperate to feel some sort of satisfaction. They discover how their parents' religious copy-catting does not satisfy them; so they go to peers and give in to however their peers seek pleasures.

So, having a culture, alone, of righteousness will not work. It already has not worked, or we would have it still, now. There needs to be how Jesus has us becoming in our hearts and personalities of His love. And in His love almighty we have almighty self-control against all the different forms of pleasure abuse, and we have "rest for your souls" (Matthew 11:28-30) so we are satisfied to do what is right.

No law can make us love, and no law can truly satisfy us to do what is right.

However, laws are used by God to resist what is wrong.

So, I would say we can thank God for however He pleases to succeed in resisting whoever is wrong, and pray for however He pleases to take care of us and do good to those who resist us >

"bless those who curse you", Jesus says in Matthew 5:44 and in Luke 6:28.
