"If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small" - Proverbs 24:10

God doesn’t allow adversity in our lives to hurt us but to help us. Those who go through the adversities of life quietly serving God are made strong while all others become flabby. Don’t begrudge the adversities of life. They are what makes you strong in the Lord.

Great post and a great reminder.

That's one lesson that our culture never manages to apprehend.

Very few voices in society articulate that adversity is a normal part of life which must be faced and mastered. It's the very the nature of maturation and growth to investigate the nature of the tensions and conflicts of life.

But instead we are told to escape, dispose of and flee from crisis or to address it as if the problem external. That is what is constantly modeled for us.

We should be raising children with the expectation that all of life is problem solving and all of humanity has problems all the time. And that when a problem has emerged then it's an invitation to learn a lesson. And if the lesson you have learned has to do with with someone elses faults ....then you can count on remaining an infant for a very long time.....even till old age. But if you face those experiences with the courage to examine your own relationship to the situation.....then this is one of the few real sources of meaningful happiness.

How much suffering would be saved by knowing this one truth of Gods in proverbs 24:10.
