Jesus tells us that we will be known by our fruits, the primary one being love. Most will admit that really loving with agape love is a struggle. Would you agree? But if we are honest, it is more than a struggle, it is one we are losing. Badly. Jesus said that we are to love God with ALL of our heart, soul, mind and strength. He also told us the second greatest commandment is to love others as we love ourselves.
Let those two great commandments sink in for a moment. Are we doing either? Are we even close? No, we are not. And why? Because we have been taught only half of the New Covenant. Oh, we have forgiveness down pat. But the other half? The half where God promises to ‘cause us’ to walk in real obedience and make us fruitful, the part where our shield of faith actually works in quenching every arrow of Satan, the part where we get delivered from the power of darkness, the part where He makes a way of escape in every single temptation and then assures us we will take it? That part? We are the blind leading the blind.
We have no idea such a walk is even possible, let alone promised to us. It matters not whether we are weak or strong, educated or not, it makes no difference. God has promised to make us ALL fruitful, full of love for both God and our neighbor.
And if you scratch your head, saying “Whaaaattt???”, well, you are not alone. Nevertheless, in these last days, God is going to awaken us and cause us to light our lamps. Every single one of us that truly loves the light, that wants more than anything to love as Jesus commanded us, will find in the coming days the HOW of overflowing love we have so been lacking up till now.
But there is something that must occur first. We must come to the place where we have to admit our great need.... and HATE our old nature that simply cannot love. It is impossible. Our contentment without godliness, without God’s love filling us, overflowing out of us, must come to an end. MUST. You see, For us to fully walk in the light as He is in the light, we must be willing to be cleansed....not just forgiven...but cleansed of all the traces of darkness that we have thought is the best grace can do. It is not, not by a long shot.
In these coming days, as the final latter rain begins, we are the blessed generation that will see the church returned to a state of purity that we never even thought was possible. Do we realize how many generations of brothers and sisters before us will have lived and died without witnessing what we will witness..... what we will be a part of? So will love be a struggle then? Praise God, no! It will be the easiest thing imaginable. Why? Because by faith, we will finally truly understand that Christ is IN us, not just with us and the old us, the one we have been taught we have to keep on the straight and narrow? We will KNOW that person is dead, never to rise again. One with Him. one with one another. That is what is heading our way. Glory to God!
Amazing days are ahead. Hold on, weary saints. God has a surprise for us that in going to blow our minds.
Blessings,
Gideon
