I did the Tucson Christmas Bird Count again this year. My area includes Winterhaven, the neighborhood next to mine. They go all out for Christmas. It's a bit of anomaly in Tucson with it's grass lawns and it's mixed urban forest but this morning, it also hosted a herd of these.

I thought that they were somewhat dangerous or is that just when you call them a pig.

I'll say they're dangerous! They run through our neighborhood tipping over garbage cans and making a mess!

I've heard that you don't have to worry about them unless you encounter a herd at night and one gets separated from group and starts thrashing wildly about in the dark until it's reunited with the herd again.

This isn't the same animal that killed Ol' Yeller.

A nice shot from my friend who did the count with us. This is a female Vermilion Flycatcher for all of you scoring along at home. Tucson holds the world record for this species on the CBC.

Your signature brings this to mind.

As the sparrow finds a home
and the swallow a nest to settle her young,
My home is by your altars,
LORD of hosts, my king and my God!
Psalms 84:4

Luke 9:58
Jesus replied, “- Foxes have dens and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.”
