Ok.... I haven't had a dream like this in a couple months. I've had 3 total. They are all pretty much the same. It is very realistic:( I am laying in bed, my son && husband beside me (in the dream).... I feel a presence in the room. The 'presence' or force drags me out of bed and around it && throws me back in it:( During all this I am trying my best to scream for help && trying to tell my husband && son to leave the room but my lips won't open (only mumbles in my throat come) && it's like I am being held down && unable to move.

My son is terrified of his room && our bedroom (he's almost 5). He says he has seen dark things going into his room?:( I have prayed prayers of protection && quoted scriptures ALL through my house. I pray every night && have taught him to pray too.

Even though I haven't had a dream like that in a while the last few nights in my home I have been restless && completely unable to sleep..... I feel that this is demonic.... I just have a deep gut feeling but I'm not really sure so if ANY of you have had experience with this please share your advice or what worked for you!! Thanks so much...

It can be difficult dealing with supernatural oppression/harassment especially when it involves children, but you must fully realize and practice your total victory in Christ over the demonic. They cannot harm those who are covered in the blood of the lamb, they can only make you think they have more power than they actually do. God bless, will be praying

Beside that , demons can't do anything on thier own , they must be invited inside , even when they wanted to go inside pigs they needed permission from Christ ( Matthew 8:29-34).
They can't go inside you when you have Holy Spirit . If you want them to go away sit in your bet and mention Jesus Christ and his blood shed for sins of the world and to make dead man live , demons hate hearing that blood .

You can mumble the name of Jesus if that happens again.

And next time, try your best to move even if you think it's futile. Eventually, you can snap out of quickly and finally have no effect at all to you. :)

It took years until I was able to conquer it with ease.

I really don't want to be 'That Guy' but I have had my fair share of insane dreams. I have died in my dreams probably over 50 times in my life. Been stabbed to death (and it hurts), have drowned, shot to death, fell off of rooftops and landed, horror movie scenarios, etc. I have had, not anymore, probably over 30 dreams where I was lying in bed and someone was standing over me and I was terrified and couldn't move or scream. I've had an alien abduction dream (luckily just one that was scary lol). For the record I've also had lots of awesome 'Crazy' dreams, for example I flew in my dreams many times (although I seemed to have lost that ability lol). Anyway, as I said don't want to be that guy, but I know a lot of people that tell me they NEVER dream...I just think that me and you 'Strength From Within', for whatever the reason, are simply people who have crazy dreams.

I have suffered night terrors like that, before I was saved and after, and I've had evil spirits inhabiting my apartment. It usually means that you have given place for the demonic in your home. Maybe by an occult object or picture? Any religious items that is not of God could do this. It could happen simply by reading horoscopes in the mornings. I'm in no way accusing you of anything, but simply giving you something to go on.
I had lots of items in my house from my past that the Lord helped me remove, and issues with my faith.
And any unrepented sin in any of you could also cause this.
Did your son recently begin to spend time with a new friend maybe? Or your husband?

You need to continue praying in faith, and your husband and your son as well. I believe you should ask the Lord to reveal what has caused this attack on your family. I will pray for you, for protection and for clarity.

May the Lord stand by you through this and strengthen you. In Jesus' name, amen!

Feel free to message me if you wish to talk. I've dealt a lot with this.

Your sister in Christ,
Em

Have you ever heard of sleep paralysis? It can be really scary, just the kind of things you described you and your son had. It's possible to get rid of it ith some efforts. Google it, you'llfind out more about it.

I think a lot of christians over emphasize demons and satan, it almost sounds like they enjoy talking about satan and whatever he does and all that nonsense. A lot if things are just normal phenomenons that are explained with satans influence. Jesus has conquered death and all forces of evil. You don't have to fear them, you don't even have to talk about them. Concentrate on Jesus instead.

Jesus ministry was actually very much focused on deliverance. He cast out demons everywhere He went, and He asked his disciples to do the same. And even though I agree with you to some extent, I can testify that evil spirits are very much real and able to affect us and torment us, if we give them a place in our lives. And yes, they are completely and utterly defeated by the Cross, but only if we make sure to actually cover ourselves in His grace and in His blood. Sometimes there are parts of our lives where we haven't done that, and I believe that is true for all of us. That is where evil spirits can be allowed to have a place.

Before I was saved, I was living in a lot of sin, including witchcraft, and I suffered from so much pain, illnesses, mental and physical, depression and all kinds of suffering. After I was saved, all of that went away, but it didn't until I repented from all sin, and that is, as I'm sure you can agree to, a huge process for all believers. As the Lord helped me clean out my apartment, and pointed me to objects that were of my past, all of my troubles, that medical science deemed incurable or couldn't even find a reason for, just went away. That included stomach problems (no matter what I ate), migraines (completely gone now), epilepsy, sleep paralysis, troubles breathing, pain in my shoulders, borderline disorder etc etc.
God is a miracle worker, but we have to allow Him to do His miracles and heal us, and to deliver us, and that means we have to completely lay our lives in His hands and stay true to His Word. And that means we need to focus on the issue according to Him, and not what we perceive the issue to be according to our natural minds. We cannot just ignore the evil forces in this world, and Paul urged us to be very much aware of the Devil's schemes, and to wear our armor of light in order to stand against them.

I'm NOT starting an argument. I only wanted to give you my perspective and my experiences. God has done a lot for me, and I wish that everyone would experience His glory in that way, and receive much needed healing. We receive that by faith.

God bless you, and I wish you all the best,
Em

Thanks for sharing. I agree and now that I read some of the posts on this thread this all makes more sense too. Yes, evil forces exist and it's possible that you have them attacking, if you've let them into your life. Like doing witchcraft and such. In that case the best solution is to give up fooling with whatever other religion and such, and pray to God to remove those attacks altogether and stop them as son as they start.

That being said, I do also want to stick to my first post. If you're not 100% sure that you've knowingly let those demons into your life then it would also not be 100% certain that you have any demons in the first place. Try thinking about your past, and pray about it in the daylight, while everything is ok. Sleep paralysis can often be a very normal thing that could happen to anyone and can also go away with normal means. Even if the visions you have include evil spirits. But obviously, I have no idea of the opening postets past or present so I can't say which one it is. I just think that maybe the more natural explanation is more common.

I've had similar night-terror experiences. God may allow such things because (1) He wants you to exercise faith in Him, and/or (2) you have a psychological weakness you should know about. My weakness was that my faith in Christ was weak, and I needed to establish a deep-seated security in Him. After I obtained that "security" (in Hebrews it is called "sabbath rest" and "an anchor for the soul"), all night terrors stopped.

Children become more confident when the parents are confident in the almighty protection of God. Be the example your son needs.

I believe this is a very good position to take, because we need to be open to whatever the truth may be. And as always, we will need the Lord to reveal to us what steps we need to take, and believe that whatever the reason, He will provide the solution. If there is any unrepentant sin in our lives, the Holy Spirit will search our hearts and convict us for them. Any sin can leave room for oppression in our lives, like lust, anger etc, and not just witchcraft, although that leaves a wide open door.

But yes, sleep paralysis, and nightmares, can of course be purely emotional, spiritual or physical, due to stress etc. When Jesus would heal people from an illness, he sometimes cast out evil spirits, and sometimes he only healed them. And I believe that the Lord is both able and willing to heal if that would be the case as well.

In this case, I do believe that the sleep paralysis is of demonic origins, because the nature of the dreams and because of what the OP's son has been experiencing, and because I have been through something very similar. And that was a demon and I needed deliverance, and the Lord delivered me. And this is nothing to fear, because we are not to fear evil, but it needs to be dealt with. Through repentance and faith.

I wouldn't be able to say either way if the natural reason is more common or the demonic reason, because I am not God. Only He knows and only He is able to reveal this to us in any situation, and if we continually seek His wisdom, He will. I believe these kinds of afflictions in our lives are there only to reveal to us the parts of our lives where we haven't surrendered to Him (not fulfilling Matthew 22:37), or simply to increase our faith and knowledge on Truth, and our reliance on Him. And of course so we will get to experience His glory. So whatever the case, this should be the outcome. :)

I always pray this, outloud, every night and it seems to work: I plead the blood of Jesus Christ to cover and protect me and my family from head to toe, to cover this entire house and our car(s) throughout the entire night tonight and day tomorrow. Please bind and rebuke any evil and demonic spirits that are around us and in this house. Surround my family and I as well as our house and car(s) with Your hedge of protection throughout the entire night tonight and day tomorrow. Keep us safe from the enemy's lies, schemes, and attacks. In the Name of Jesus Christ I ask these things..Amen. ♥

About..3 nights ago, I was hearing this scratching noise above my head- like an animal trying to scratch at the wall. It would stop as soon as I prayed that or just by claiming my authority in Christ by saying outloud: I bind and rebuke all of these evil spirits in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Are you sure it's not an animal in the wall or attic like a mouse or squirrel? An animal would be still if it heard you talking.

I'm positive. I've considered if it was an animal... And I only whispered my prayer which I doubt can be heard through the wall and brick of the house.

You can mumble the name of Jesus if that happens again.
I had a similar experience. I couldn't speak but I screamed from the depths of my Spirit what came out as a whisper in my mouth. "Goddddd!" A light entered and the thing that terrified me became far more terrified over what was coming and fled.

FWIW, I've had similar experiences. They first started when I became a campus minister in my early 20s. I would on occasion wake up from dreams where I was feeling like I was being choked as I was waking up and found myself saying the name of Jesus out loud as I was waking up. This occurred sporadically over the years. Later, I'd find myself having a typical random dream, and then something wouldn't feel right and there would be something in my dreams that simply felt like it wasn't supposed to be there. In my dreams, I'd start addressing whatever it was in the name of Jesus, and I'd find myself waking up saying the name of Jesus out loud. Even later over the years, it was like all I had to do was become aware of something in my dreams, it was sort of like I would wake up and become intent and alert within the dream and see some element of the dream that wasn't supposed to be there, this something would realize I was aware of it, and it would immediately disappear before I had a chance to say the name of Jesus. The interesting thing that I would note is that I wasn't consciously deciding to say the name of Jesus out loud. It was just something I woke up finding myself doing. This is interesting in that most of the time I pray, I usually use Lord, Father, or the like (or when I'm alone more familiar terms for Father).

For me, I guess I never really told people about this much except when they mention similar things. It's not the typical subject of conversation to bring up. :)

I'm not sure what to say in terms of advice beyond what others have said already. Overall though I'd tend to note that my dreams like that seemed to be at times I had become more involved with particular churches and ministries that were having major spiritual problems. I don't journal or keep a diary, but I have the general sense that these types of "dreams" seemed somewhat correlated to when I was involved in tougher spiritual situations.

I have suffered from similar experiences. I used to be attacked by evil spirits during the nights. Nightmares, and sometimes brain washing, waking up feeling really confused and with strange thoughts. And suddenly, after praying about it, I would have normal dreams, and then suddenly I've just known in the dream that demons were suddenly attacking. And that the Holy Spirit was rebuking the demons in my mind, stopping them from what they were doing (it could also have been angels fighting from the outside). And He would wake me up, and I was made aware of what the enemy was doing, and that the Lord had been fighting for me.

It's in the name of Jesus that the enemy must flee, and I think that's what God was doing for you. :)
