How do we meditate?

you think. you put away the noise and the distractions and you think. meditate just means to think deeply on for a period of time in silence, or something to that effect.
If I am going to meditate about God or a scripture. I am going to sit, in silence, and think about them. and them alone.

Yes...I usually meditate on scripture...

Colossians 1:16

for through him God created everything
in the heavenly realms and on earth.

Meditation leads into prayer, and into the presence of the Lord

Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

It is great when I wake up and a verse or thought is still in my memory from the night before...

Yeah, it's not about emptying our minds but filling it or focusing on Him and His Word.

Our thoughts determine our behaviour and so what we think about is very important. That is why God wants us to meditate on his Word.
