Everyone claims God loves me, but why does He allow me to suffer so tremendously?

If you pray persistently God will eventually answer your prayers. Do not believe that he hates you, have strong faith that he has the power to heal you. Life isn't easy look at Jesus and his disciples. They were the closest people to the son of God yet they have suffered more than most of us have. Anxiety and depression are demonic attacks on our lives but I ensure you that if you pray with faith and persistence he will renew your body and don't be afraid to ask for more from him.

I would also like to add that we have to look at our own hearts and then at our own minds and what we say to ourselves.

For instance, if we say that we trust God and our faith is somewhat strong, then we need to cast out of our minds and recognize that those are false thoughts, because we need to train our minds to be in alignment with our hearts.

The strongest faith is in the heart and sometimes our subconcious brings fear or doubt to the forefront, but we have control of our minds and the way we see life.

It is a trick of the devil to try to make you think God doesn't care, or love you. When you are attacked thank God that you are on the right Side for if you weren't you would not be getting attacked. Stay praising God. Carrying your cross whatever it may be will get you a reward in heaven.

I wouldn't say it's a trick of the devil, bad thoughts come with depression. I feel annoyed when people automatically say every mental problem is of the devil.

And honestly OP, I'm not sure what to tell you (I have doubts about God's love too, so you're not alone there) other than to hold on, reach out to other people, and try to help make things better.

If we stand firm in God's Word then we KNOW God loves us.

Those who doubt God's Word is true have doubts, because Christ tells us exactly who He is and who we are in Christ.

  1. "Your God, the Lord himself, will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you." - Deuteronomy 31:6
  2. "When they call to me, I will answer them; when they are in trouble, I will be with them." - Psalm 91:15
  3. "If the Lord had not helped me, I would have gone quickly to the land of silence. I said, 'I am falling'; but your constant love, O Lord, held me up." - Psalm 94:17, 18
  4. "Do not be afraid. I will save you. I have called you by name—you are mine. When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; your troubles will not overwhelm you. When you pass through fire, you will not be burned; the hard trials that come will not hurt you. For I am the Lord, your God…because you are precious to me and because I love you and give you honor, do not be afraid—I am with you!" - Isaiah 43:1-5
  5. "I will be with you always, to the end of the age." - Matthew 28:20
  6. "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you." - John 14:18
  7. "No one stood by me the first time I defended myself; all deserted me…But the Lord stayed with me and gave me strength." - 2 Timothy 4:16,17

Jesus himself never wrote anything down though. We only have the word of what the writers say he said, and since the writings are not signed or in the first person unlike Paul's letters they might not even have met Jesus.

I am sorry for your pain. Firs I think it important to know that pain And, or evil are not without a reason. Believe Me, He does not want this for you. He does want the best for you. He wants you too choose Him. He will let things happen for reasons we may never know, but He works all things for for those who love Him. It may not be that the pain will go away, but He will alwayalways walk through it with you. Talk to Him. Pour your heart out to Him.

He does love you.

So your expectation is that Jesus should have written His own biography? Not out saving souls and preaching His Kingdom?

Anyone who does not want to believe the Bible is true will find a million excuses. So then how do know ANY of the four gospels have any truth in them?

Or for that matter any of the Old Testament?

See once you slice and dice the Bible, there is no putting it back together or choosing what is true.

What was to stop Jesus from doing both? Doing both would allow Jesus's message to be spread more precisely. That could have brought benefits and decreased any current confusion, if not make it nonexistent.

God is not an entity which cares for individuals, God is the fabric of reality. It is by choice that you create something else, every thought you have is a creation, outside/on top of what already is. All you have to do is accept his creation only and value it more than yours.

First off, I am far too apologetic if I wrote this in the wrong category. Only I just discovered this forum a few minutes ago and don't know much about it.

It's just, just that I'm dealing with an issue that I have been bravely fighting against for far too many years to count. What I am talking about is my crippling depression and anxiety. Honestly, I can't take it anymore. It's too much to deal with. I try to stay strong, but I can't stay strong anymore.

I just don't understand how God can love me, yet watches me be miserable everyday. I don't understand how God can love me, yet can know that I hate myself more and more each day. I don't understand how God can love me, yet can allow me to want nothing more but to die.

I do love Him, but I don't even pray anymore because I don't see myself getting any better. So, I don't even know if I consider myself a Christian anymore. I do want to be a Christian more than anything, but I feel God hates me because He's not even proving to me that He loves me anymore. I feel I messed up immensely, but I can't remember what I did to hurt Him. And I feel super awful about it.

What I'm asking is... how can I repair my relationship with God? I want to have the strongest relationship with Him again and have Him save me from my deathly issues. How can I do this? Please and thank you!

Hey I've been where you are it feels like nobody cares about you and that nothing could make your life better. When I was down I turned to my next section of the Bible to read and it was the book of Job. He felt the same way 'wishing he never was born or he wished he died while being born but he never blamed God. He lost his family, his health was declining and he lost all of his wealth. God later tested Job and asked him "where were you when I created all of this" job later listened to God and God restored everything for Job. I know it may seem hard right now but you can get through this. You have people that care for you and want you to have a relationship with God again. Just start saying small prayers to him and if they don't get answered it's just not God's timing for you. Keep your head up and if you need anybody to talk to I'm here for you.

If you decide to believe on Jesus Christ and are born again you will be blessed. Those who do not believe on Jesus are cursed. Believers can choose to rejoice in their sufferings. God gives non believers time to choose to believe. They can choose to believe that there is wrath for non believers that is far worse to endure than any suffering they have experienced. Wrath that never ends. They could never have to experience that eternal wrath if they would believe on Jesus. The time remaining to believe is very very very very short. Today is the day of salvation. If you do not believe that God is good you need to change your mind and believe on Jesus Christ today. Believe before you do anything else.

~I really don't like to use extra-Biblical examples, especially from movies, but at the very end of "Cool Hand Luke",Paul Newman(playing title role),in a brief prayer confessed that he was a real "hard case". Then the posse suddenly shows up outside and since he was caught yet again,exclaimed..."I guess You're a hard case too...",referring to God. Now I personally would never call God that,or at least not on purpose in a right state of mind. But He does deal with some much harder than others, since He knows what is REALLY in our heart of hearts, even if on the surface we seem to be a really decent and nice person. God allows more suffering for some than others for His own reasons, and unfortunately all we can do is accept it. Wish I could say more but would probably only be ignored if not already. Well at least hope the original poster gets something good from it.
Godspeed-

If you let go of God (As like a possession) Your life will change. It did for me, you see I use to cling to the idea of Jesus and depend on it to keep me out of harms way. Once I let go of this faulty perception I was truly free. Also let go of hell, because you don't need it to make you do the right thing. Your conscience is more than enough to guide you all the way home.
