Shabbat Shalom. Peace to you and yours. May God bless you this very day.

THE SABBATH IS THE SEAL OF GOD
A SEAL ALWAYS HAS 3 ELEMENTS:
1. Name
2. Title
3. Territory

Where do we find the Seal of our God?
Exodus 20: 7-11 The 4th Commandment, The Sabbath
1. Name: God
2. Title: Creator
3. Territory: Earth, and everything in it.

But people go so what? What is the big deal about finding the seal of God. Three seals, one explains do not touch or open without authorization as in the seals found on the scroll in revelation. The other is what stamps the seal upon what is being sealed. The third meaning of the seal and its value is found in God seal and what it is placed upon.

The modern process and requirements to seal a record and the protections it provides vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, and even between civil and criminal cases. Generally, record sealing can be defined as the process of removing from general review the records pertaining to a court case and finalizing it for enduring process of the law.

A contract under seal is considered a more formal contract. Generally, valuable consideration is necessary to make an enforceable contract but for a contract under seal, no consideration is necessary. Traditionally, such a contract carries with it an *irrebuttable presumption of consideration". The seal is the finality, the conclusion, and "irrebuttable".

Filing under seal filing is a procedure allowing sensitive or confidential information to be filed with a court without becoming a matter of public record. The court generally must give permission for the material to remain under seal. Just as Yeshua was given permission to open up the seal.

Signed, sealed, and delivered. Completed satisfactorily, as in The house is sold—signed, sealed, and delivered. This idiom refers to a legal deed, which to be valid had to be signed by the seller, sealed with a wax seal, and delivered to the new owner. Yeshua received the sealed scroll as the new owner.

A seal, in biblical times as today, is used to guarantee security or indicate ownership. Ancient seals were often made of wax, embedded with the personalized imprint of their guarantor. The Roman authorities used such a seal to secure Jesus' tomb ( Matt 27:66 ). A signet ring was also called a seal. It was valued among Israel's booty ( Num 31:50 ). The significance of the act of sealing is dependent on the importance of the one doing the sealing. This is why Jezebel falsely authenticated letters she wrote in Ahab's name by affixing them with his seal ( 1 Kings 21:8 ). Ahasuerus's solemn decree to annihilate the Jews ( Es 3:12 ) and then to bless them (8:8, 10) was sealed with his signet ring. Revelation's saints have a seal with God's name protecting them from judgment ( Rev 9:4 ; 14:1 ). Throughout eternity all of God's people will bear this mark of identification ( Rev 22:4 ).

The ring or the seal as an emblem of authority in Egypt, Persia and elsewhere is mentioned in ( Genesis 41:42 ; 1 Kings 21:8 ; Esther 3:10 Esther 3:12 ; 8:2 ; Daniel 6:17 ) and as an evidence of a covenant, in (Jeremiah 32:10 Jeremiah 32:44 ; Nehemiah 9:38 ; 10:1 ; Haggai 2:23 ) Engraved signets were in use among the Hebrews in early times. ( Exodus 28:11, 36 ; 39:6 )

When we are looking for God's seal, often people point to the "sealing of the Holy Spirit" which is a very important aspect. But what is lacking is the physical seal of God. This thread is looking for the physical seal that is the signet upon God's people, that they are His. This is their evidence of obedience to the covenant.

The value of having a seal or seeing the significance of the seal is found in what it represents. One of the most important uses of sealing in antiquity was to give a proof of authenticity and authority to letters, royal commands, etc. It served the purposes of a modern signature at a time when the art of writing was known to only a few. The written commands of Ahasuerus were "sealed with the king's ring," "for the writing which is written in the king's name, and sealed with the king's ring, may no man reverse" (Esther 8:8,10; 3:12).

And in "no man reverse" is the authority. Finding the Sabbath seal of God, we need to understand "no man can reverse" His seal.

In sealing the roll, it was wrapped round with flaxen thread or string, then a lump of clay was attached to it impressed with a seal. The seal would have to be broken by an authorized person before the book could be read (Revelation 5:2,5,9; 6:1,3, etc.).

Does Yeshua have His own seal separate from His Father's? Is He authorized to do anything different from what His Father's Will to do? Sealing was a badge of deputed authority and power, as when a king handed over his signet ring to one of his officers (Genesis 41:42; Esther 3:10; 8:2; 1 Maccabees 6:15). is there any evidence in scripture that Yeshua was given authority and power to act on His own?

God by His Spirit indicates who are His, as the owner sets his seal on his property; and just as documents are sealed up until the proper time for opening them, so believers are sealed up by the Holy Spirit "unto the day of redemption" (Ephesians 1:13; 4:30; 2 Corinthians 1:22). Ownership, security and authentication are implied in the words, "The firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his" (2 Timothy 2:19). The seal of God on the foreheads of His servants (Revelation 7:2-4) marks them off as His own, and guarantees their eternal security, whereas those that "have not the seal of God on their foreheads" (Revelation 9:4) have no such guaranty.

Catholicism regarding the Sabbath

Different statements made by Catholic clergy regarding the Sabbath. Here are some quotes with their sources:

"It was the Catholic church which...has transferred this rest to Sunday in remembrance of the resurrection of our Lord. Therefore the observance of Sunday by the Protestants is an homage they pay, in spite of themselves, to the authority of the (Catholic) church." Monsignor Louis Segur, Plain Talk About Protestantism of Today, p. 213.

"Sunday is our mark of authority...the church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact." Catholic Record of London, Ontario, September 1, 1923.

"Perhaps the boldest thing, the most revolutionary change the Church ever did, happened in the first century. The holy day, the Sabbath, was changed from Saturday to Sunday. 'The day of the Lord' was chosen, not from any direction noted in the scriptures, but from the Catholic church's sense of its own power...People who think that the scriptures should be the sole authority, should logically become 7th Day Adventists, and keep Saturday holy." St. Catherine Church Sentinel, Algonac, Michigan, May 21, 1995.

Do you pay homage to the Catholics by keeping a Sunday Sabbath?

Sabbath Judaizers
The Council of Laodicea of around 365 AD decreed 59 laws, #29:
"Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honoring the Lord's Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ."

Pisidian Antioch in the Roman Empire
Acts 13
13 From Paphos, Paul and his companions sailed to Perga in Pamphylia, where John left them to return to Jerusalem. 14 From Perga they went on to Pisidian Antioch. On the Sabbath they entered the synagogue and sat down. 15 After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the leaders of the synagogue sent word to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have a word of exhortation for the people, please speak.”16 Standing up, Paul motioned with his hand and said: “Fellow Israelites and you Gentiles who worship God, listen to me!

44 On the next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. 45 When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy. They began to contradict what Paul was saying and heaped abuse on him.
46 Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.

48 When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

The first Gentile converts kept the Sabbath, and so therefore it was not an issue.

The biblical term "proselyte" is an anglicization of the Koine Greek term προσήλυτος/proselytos, as used in the Greek Old Testament for "stranger", i.e. a "newcomer to Israel"; a "sojourner in the land", and in the Greek New Testament for a first century convert to Judaism, generally from Ancient Greek religion. It is a translation of the Biblical Hebrew phrase גר תושב/ ger toshav.

Judaize

Galatians 2:14
But when I saw that they are not walking uprightly to the truth of the good news, I said to Peter before all, `If thou, being a Jew, in the manner of the nations dost live, and not in the manner of the Jews, how the nations dost thou compel to Judaize?

Galatians 2:14
But when I saw that they were not walking uprightly according to the truth of the good news, I said to Peter before everyone, If you, being a Jew live in the manner of the nations, and not in the manner of the Jews, then how will you compel the nations to Judaize?
