I was very close to weighing 200 lbs until I got serious. I was having a lot of pain issues in my sides (I have scar tissue which can get very extinguishing if left alone) and I started reading and researching all kinds of foods I ought to be eating. I thought back to what I was eating before and realized why I was gaining instead of losing. Yes, it can be very tough - especially starting out, but it's important to gradually work your way to increasing your workout time (at least for me it was). :)

:cheer: I'm cheering you on!

I know its true cause Im at the point of not really being fat, but at a cross roads.

Do I let my gut buld on itself and give up before Im 40 or do I get healthy and say "No way I'm not done seeing my feet!" and do something about it.

Its been about a week since I had soda of any kind..... going from 10-12 cans a day easy.... that says something. That in itself saved me 1500 calories a day at least. Not to mention all the sugars that I have been putting in my body since I was about 8 years old.

So far this week I have had a menu that would make Chuck proud. Nothing but sandwiches all week. Instead of potato chips...... sauteed garlic sauce red potatoes or brown rice. (beginning of the week I had chips, but 15 chips being a serving makes the fat boy in Toro has the sads)

I've also been riding a stationary bike first thing when I wake up for a couple of weeks. Started out riding for 15, then 30 now at 45 mins a day as light cardio first thing in the morning. Poor Swanny has to listen to obscene phone calls every morning of me stationary bike breathing. :p

For me it's impossible to make progress in both at the same time and I had trouble losing weight while exercising unless I severely undercut my calorie requirements. It just made me exhausted and didn't do anything for me at all. Luckily I hit my goals before moving to Atlanta for training a couple months ago. While I was there I had 24-7 access to a fitness center, and I saved money by eating almost nothing but salad (barbaric, I know). I lost 20 to 30 pounds at least in two months. I'm no fitness guru but I'm starting to figure out what works for me, and now that I'm out, I can't maintain. I have to get my routine back in order.

Yeah it has been a learning process @Swan7. That is the hard part @Wayholka.

Here's my advice: Walk as much as possible and avoid sugary drinks.

Years ago I used to weigh up to 220 lbs at 5'11. Every day I would walk to work and back home which took around 30 minutes to an hour every day. Over the course of a year, I slimmed down to 170 lbs. When I was getting off of some medications, I self medicated the stress by drinking pop which brought my weight back up to 190 lbs.

Sugary drinks are filled with easy-to-get calories and the sugar actually makes it physically harder for you to lose weight due to messing with your metabolism.

What's it about? I may read it before the movie :)
Without giving away the plot, it's about a woman who is alcoholic and thinks she committed a murder, but can't remember because she blacks out when she drinks. It's a lot like Gone Girl in the sense that you have no idea who did it until the very end.

It's really good. You should check it out. :)

Greatest movie I ever saw....

By far is "I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives In The House" on Netflix.

Also, I can't remember a time when I could comfortably wear t-shirts or a dress in November.. lol

What a wonderful world.

Yeah, it's kinda cold season for those now :muahah:I can't stand the cold and yet I am still here where it is cold! sigh...

I pulled out all my fall and winter clothes because i am excited to get into a new fashion because I am tired of shorts but it is still eighty degrees out. I tried wearing some thermal shirts yesterday hoping they would be a nice change but I burned up and had to get into some shorts and a tee shirt, what is going on with the weather.

Second thing on my mind. Portland is considered the most ungodly city in America, we need to send them more missionarys and disciples.

I must be in a rather cheery mood despite the Great Dragon coming back to work today after being gone all this week thus far and everyone suddenly feeling they have to be on edge again (I myself was among the many who got some of the brunt end as always.) ^_^ Because I suddenly found myself humming this pretty wistfully all the way from the drive home tonight and even into the shower =>

Yes, specifically the twelfth main theme. Because it's the best version. ^_^

I am not a fan of cold weather, but 70s and humidity during the first few days of *November* just throw me off. Lol.

I don't remember off hand which currents effect the weather here, but it is odd how the ocean is still plenty warm during this time of the year...

going from 10-12 cans a day easy....

Whoa, dude... That's an expensive thirst!

I have to say, I slam down diet Monster like it's going out of fashion. I find caffeine slightly addicting. It just seems to enhance everything and makes my thoughts much more lucid. It seems to lift my Autistic 'moodiness' as well. I really need to find a safer alternative really, I might get back on the sulbutiamine. (Or just pray instead of being lazy!)

It's probably why I'm a little bonkers sometimes. The caffeine is probably dissolving my brain - ha ha.

about 10 bucks every 3 days, so not THAT expensive. I was spending easily double that back when I was smoking. Of course tea is half the cost of the dr peppers and its healthier. I also get my doses of caffeine..... at least enough of it to stave off the headaches due to caffeine withdraw. :D

Looks like Cody will have to go to you then cause the people of Canadia are like eskimos and stuff..... and I know you and Cody belong together.
