What is needed to know, is what it is that will happen and what we should do to be prepared for it.
That's the $64,000 thousand dollar question, isn't it !... What should we be doing to prepare for it ? Especially as all the
signs indicate the
End of the
World is imminently at hand. In this case, I'm not talking in any figurative, or relative sense... I'm talking
literally now
.
Seems to me there are two ways to approach the question. One being "S
piritual" and the other one being from a "
Practical" standpoint
. I think there is an abundance of Scriptural evidence to support both views. On the practical side
Noah had to build the Ark before the flood came. God instructed Gideon that he should observe his troops and choose the soldiers who remained "watchful" and "cup" the water with their hands as they drank from the river. Those 300 became his elite shock troops, while the rest who carelessly stuck their heads in the water, or lapped at the water like mindless dogs, were sent away (Judges 6:4-7). Joseph and his family also had to flee to Egypt and live there for
seven years to escape Herod. The Book of proverbs says, "The prudent man sees evil, and hides himself from it, while the naïve proceed and pay the penalty" (Proverbs 27:12). So there's definitely a "
practical" side to being delivered by God, which doesn't rely solely on
miracles for salvation alone.
There is also the "Spiritual" aspect to consider. I don't think anyone in this forum will disagree it's going to be far better to be a Christian during the Tribulation Period, than to be one of those identified as a "
beast worshipper". Personally I would rather be judged by the world for being a Christian, be persecuted unto death and gain eternal life, rather than be judged by God and have my soul destroyed.
Of course, the whole subject of "What's going to happen during the Tribulation Period, and how we are supposed to prepare for it", and the related topic of "What real Christianity means" both stray from the intended purpose for this thread, which is specifically dedicated to recognizing the
signs of the coming
Apocalypse. As I have no wish to derail someone else's thread by going off on a different tangent, I'll only comment on "What Salvation During the Tribulation Period Means To Me" in this one post. However if someone wants to start a thread by that title, I'd certainly welcome the opportunity to discuss these matters there at greater length.
So please Handmaid, do not view this post as being deliberately disruptive, but only as a
brief INTERMISSION.
