I cannot help but notice that shots were fired. What that tells me is that it was brought on. In other words, there would be much less problem without a showdown.

It is hard to be sympathetic to people who hijacked a local cause to promote themselves. They wanted a confrontation and didn't get it on their terms. Sad for the loss of life, but criminals sometimes meet an unhappy end.

Well, it is not so much that they should stayed home they just should not have engaged in the shootout. I doubt and I am someone who does not always take the police's side just because they are police, but I doubt that the police started the standoff.
