Does anyone else have a short attention span and find it hard to focus on the work you're supposed to be doing... especially when it's tedious? I can sit and read my bible just fine or read news articles or anything of my own choice, but once I sit down to get some tedious work done, I have the attention span of a gnat...

Oh wow, that sounds like great focus. I can usually focus pretty well when doing the tedious, mundane stuff (for 2-3 or max 5 minutes at a time), but right now I am BORED out of my mind and longing to be free of this stupidity (finishing up a paper) so I can go bake and stuff. Ugghhhh.... My goodness. I wonder what other distractions I can find...

Mine is short with things I don't enjoy.
I might study, post here, spend time reading about the Chinese Pharmaceutical Industry, go out to the shed to reload a machine, go upstairs, eat a snack, and then go back down to study several times a day every few hours lol
It's a multitasking but I wish I could focus better on those boring tasks instead of diverting my time into other things which need to be done but are less relevant.

Mine is terrible. I don't have ADHD, but I am pretty sure I have ADD. I don't know if it's worth getting diagnosed(which is difficult in adults apparently -- or at least if you propose those symptoms they'll likely just tell you that you have it) but yeah, it's really tough.

My mind runs a million miles an hour as it is, so it is always difficult for me to focus. It's really tough with school but next semester I am going to try and mentally and physically isolate myself from most things and try and establish a particular area or areas that I associate with study and only study and hope that helps.

That is a very good tactic and I am sure it will help to have a separate study area. Keeping it clutter free will also help! I think it is worth getting diagnosed in case it ever becomes an issue at work, then at least you can have that documentation to back you up and help you with asking for accommodation if necessary. Try also praying for the Lord to increase your focus, I know that helps me often (when I actually do it)! Also try praying for the Lord to help your mind slow down, I've down that at times and it has been quite helpful :)

No. I have an excellent and patient attention span. I mean, seriously, when I was a kid (like 6 I'm talking) I would watch the original 1956 version of 'Moby Dick' in its entirety with my brother every day.

My attention span is fine thank you very much. Your thoughts on pizza were very interesting. However I felt that if Washington actually had wooden teeth the NFL would just protect the QB too much.

LMAO! At first I was like what? That's a good one Toro.

What is the paper about?

It was about a science/math project I did. It wasn't necessarily boring but my brain was just fried because I had finished a 54 page paper (granted there was a lot of copying & pasting because it was repetitive) on Wednesday. The science/math paper was a max of 20 pages but it just took a long time because I was just mentally exhausted. I finished last night though, thank God :) I'm like in shock that I'm actually done lol

Lol, I can totally relate to this. My brain is usually going 100mph, it's hard to slow it down sometimes. :D
