What is the lie in 2thess 2:11?

I don't think there isn't just one lie now , but any lie they deem " right in their own eyes" .

The strong delusion mentioned in 2 Thess. 2 must have something to do with the antichrist since that's the context of the passage.

Read 2 Thessalonians 2:9-11. Christians are in no wise meant.

Paul is referring to Enoch's revelations of the last days, in the tribulation, when the wicked reject the Lord and the stars fall and the wicked "take them to be Gods", and worship them, because God gives them over to the delusion.

Enoch 80:

Any manifested messiah on earth is the lie. This man of sin is opposed to man of sinlessness who is the Son of man Christ Jesus. The lie is the devil incarnated in flesh pretending to be the earthly jewish messiah who will ultimately remove the need for the daily sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins and instead be the mother of all idols of worship as THE (definite article ) abomination that maketh desolate.

Verse 11. - For this cause; on account of their being destitute of a love of the truth. it includes all of whom you mention in your question (the only thing i'd do different is put Christians in quotes, i.e. "christians")!

For someone not to love THE (definite article) TRUTH (Jesus Christ) but replaced him with THE (definite article) LIE (Satan), would imply that the TRUTH was initially received and accepted before the LIE manifested. This would indicate a willful and conscious decision being made even though it would be under the premise of a strong delusion.

It can't be pointing to those who never recieved the TRUTH to begin with. Since TRUTH according to scripture was revealed on the day of Pentecost through the Holy Ghost who revealed all TRUTH, then this would indicate a falling away from the truth. A person originally walked in the TRUTH and was indwelled by the Holy Ghost, yet when strong delusion came upon them, they willingly went after the LIE. The LIE is received willingly and consciously. The Jews never received the Romans who came as an invading army and those WITHOUT the indwelling of the Holy Ghost never had the truth to begin with.
Where people get muddled up in, is when Jesus refers to Judea. Was Jesus referring to a literal city or one that points to the spiritual Jews, who are the children of the Spirit and heirs to the promise.

If Jesus says there is coming a time where true worshippers will no longer turn towards the temple in Jerusalem in worship, then it is pointing to a spiritual city not made by human hands.

So Jesus is warning the true worshippers to flee in opposite direction when they see the man of sin manifest, who is satan incarnate in flesh.

You see our Lord incarnated in flesh and now with Jerusalem of the Egyptians (symbol of idolatry) being built up for the wordly Jewish messiah, it is high time for his coming.

Jesus hinted at his coming in.....

John 14:30
Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

So Jesus is alluding to the coming of the lawless one aka Satan. This has to happen when the symbol of the two witnesses (Christians) who preach the everlasting gospel in all the world, are removed at the symbolic 1260 day marker and at the symbolic 1290 day marker the Prince of this world arrives on the scene..

You see Jerusalem during the time of John the Baptist was built up for the messiah, yet the Jews today believe that Jerusalem is built up for the coming of their messiah. Guess what this time Jerusalem is being built up for the other guy aka Satan. Strong delusion will cause many Christians who had the truth to fall for the lie who is satan, the abomination that maketh desolate sitting in the Jewish Holy Place and pretending to be the messiah. When the false messiah is accepted by the ten Patriarchal kings then the fall is complete and the preaching of gospel will cease and the pouring out of the golden oil of salvation for the forgiveness of sin, be made null and void as far as the people of the world are concerned, because Messiah is now with them, so no need for the cross or the Holy Ghost. Now the world will be focused on this being. Believers of Judea who are the Holy Spirit in dwelled spiritual Jews are told to flee and hide in the mountains away from this monster.

I wonder of Christ could be referring to Islam or Darwin when he talks about false christs and false prophets? What about Joseph Smith, etc.?

Yes, the false Christ's are leaders of false religious sects and their followers are false prophets. Notice also the word prophets could mean witnesses or followers of that religious false Christ leader.

Yes, and notice also that Christ says that these signs/wonders (evidences) are so powerful that they would deceive the elect, if that were possible. It must be some sign/wonder against the Bible and against the gospel of Jesus Christ. Islam/Darwin fit into that category.

It must be the removal of the truth. The truth encompasses the cross, the daily sacrifice which atones for our sins once and for all. Anything that takes its place is the Abomination that maketh desolate. Even though there is Islam and Darwin but both are clearly external enemies to the gospel. This enemy however decieves from within by pretending to be Christ and the angels.

Jehovah God allows “an operation of error” to go to persons who prefer falsehood “that they may get to believing the lie” rather than the good news about Jesus Christ. When the real deal comes it will be a brilliant coming, meaning all human life as we know it ceases and all things change to the new heavens and earth along with the resurrected saved. No human mortal being will behold his brilliant appearing, everything will melt away.
