• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

What constitutes rejection? When I'm confused and scared I often follow bad lines of thought. Like perhaps I can go to hell, ergo I will. The fallacy being that the possible is the enevitable. In some of my confused moments I've caught myself saying (in my minds voice) 'I reject Christ' , because I'm scared the possible is the enevitable, so If I could reject, I will. I don't how I do that to myself, and I don't want it to be that way obviously. My fear is, how much did I know/mean when I thought those things, and do they constitute a seperation? I don't think so, HOPE. but it haunts me over and over, my peace is unfelt, to say the least. Anyhow, I know I'm erratic and all, but I'm really having trouble knowing my own will for sure 'n all. And I don't really know how to approach God in faith, cause on the one hand I believe He died for my sins, and on the other I'm not sure of my salvation or where I stand. Help.    ... ?

um... i think you should pray for God to reveal the real feelings you have deep inside.

no, at your state, it probably wouldn't be a separation from God, afterall, you're still coming back to Him and going away from Him. Total separation is total rejection, though some people are known to come back to God after years of separation. :) Only through earnest prayer and time will you become clearer on the path, rest assured though, God will take a hand! i've been wondering about my salvation too, though the issue pops up from time to time, it's not really persistent, but i see God's work on me, so i know for sure, that He hasn't given up on me.

And I don't really know how to approach God in faith, cause on the one hand I believe He died for my sins, and on the other I'm not sure of my salvation or where I stand.

so pray and give it time, Ryder, :) and be careful to observe God's work. Have faith that He will answer your prayers.

Praying for you.

Ryder,
Stay connected with God...keep praying for God to reveal His answers to you, even if you do not feel anything at the moment...trust me, if you keep praying He will prevail...and He will give you the answers you need.  Altho sometimes they might not be the ones you want, you will get God's answers.

 Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that You give Ryder Your answers.  Give him reassurance about his salvation...show him Your unfailing love.  Let him possess the strength needed to have faith in Your beautiful creation and to have faith to do Your will.  It's in Your precious name that I pray, Amen.

A mentor told me this past week that when we question our salvation and the forgiveness the Lord blesses with that it's like telling Jesus that suffering and dying on the cross wasn't enough and that He needs to endure more.  Think about that...

I am praying for you.

In Christ, Angi

Sometimes I think what I'm asking for is impossible, like the absolute certainty of salvation to a degree that virtually negates the role of faith... In any case it's me I fear, I hope the analogy of Jesus holding us is acurate, because I'm rather unstable at times.

You are right...it's near impossible to feel peace on bad days...I'm with you there now. I feel so horrible right now...peace is so far off. I want it so bad...but I can't feel it. I guess that's when we just need to fall to our knees in constant prayer. I'm praying for you.
In Him,
Angi

Thanks WrtrsTeardrop, you might be interested in a Joyce Meyer series on feelings and emotions, it's actualy pretty good and talks about how our feelings do not always confirm what is in us or what is right, and how our feelings can be our enemy. I think it was called 'emotions, the believers #1 enemy' but I could be a bit off on the title. It helped me a bit, though I still worry from time to time that I've comitted the unforgivable sin or something (couldn't find a tape on that    ) I hope my inner heart is better in Gods' eyes than mine.

yeah. . .I know how you feel Ryder.

 I would say that as long as you have the fruits of the Spirit, then you're still saved and either unable to lose it (if OSAS is true) or that you have not committed sin that cannot be repented of (if OSNAS is true)

DUDE I know what you're talking about though it wasn't that bad at all for me , thank God !! :)
well... there were questions regarding faith that were bothering me so much
I didn't really know how to live with them @ one point. It was the coolest thing, I felt so calm, 'almost' peace, was so carried thru this. Well at the moment I'm often not feeling very peaceful, but God's still caring, there's always little stuff letting me know that He doesn't let me down.
Keep trusting & relying on God, don't give it up bro, He loves you !! :)
& take a look at James 1/5 if you want, God Bless !!

you said reading the bible has helped you,
thats becuase in John 1 it says the "word" was the power given to men by which they may become the sons of God.
dont think youll make it if your not reading this word and praying.

the bible says "be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind"
the only way youll ever stop doing what the world does, and start doing what God says, is to be transformed in your inner self, your mind, or your soul.
and the only way you can do this, is by meditating on scripture and staying in continual prayer where you can hear his voice.

its when people are seperated and cut off from their prayer and study, that they get alienated like a calf from the herd, and taken down.
without continual prayer and meditation in the word, youll never make it. id like to promise that no matter what youll be ok, but i cant and id be lying to you if i did, you have to fill yourself with this word, and stay in much prayer, or you wont stand in the storms of life. becuase some people build there houses on the rock, and some people build there houses on the sand, but both dont make it in the end, becuase the storms do come, and they have no other motive but to destroy you.

recognise this isnt just a concidence, its an attack.

and know the truth about rejection.
God never rejects a man becuase of any action that he takes, nothing can seperate you from his love, nothing you can do, can make God stop loving you.
the only thing you could ever do and not be forgiven for, is to have a heart toward God, that will not hearken to him and be saved.

THAT is the unforgivable sin, that is blasphemey of the Holyghost.
you have not done that.

in 1 john 1.9
it says if you confess your sins to him he is faithful and just forgive you and cleanse you from ALL unrighteousness.

if you do this, be strong and know, you are saved.

man, take a time out in your day to praise him, do something that is exciting. i find that it is easier to have faith when your happy.
read something that makes you happy about him, do something that makes you happy, it is much easier to have faith, when you have Joy.
