Music is a form of expression to me. If there is a tonne of swearing in the song then that was that artist expressing themselves. It shouldn't affect you and your relationship with God.
I'm not trying to go against anything that you or Von are saying, I'm just giving you my opinion on the matter.
You will hear and like songs in the charts that are by non-Christians that may have a meaning that goes against your faith or beliefs, but you should be comfortable enjoying the music whilst knowing the music is enjoyable.
Just the same as there is a load of Christian bands whose styles don't interest me, I can still appreciate what they are doing for God. On the flip side, there may be a load of bands who sing against God, I can still appreciate their musicianship if the music is enjoyable.
My taste in music is eclectic but I love a lot of heavy metal & metalcore etc and went through the same turmoil as you when I became a Christian. I sat down and thought to myself for a while and what I came up with was what I said above.
If you enjoy the music, great, keep on enjoying the music. Headbang, go wild, a bunch of my friends are Christians and still throw the horns at concerts. They are comfortable with their faith and they feel that God is comfortable with them.
He knows you aren't going anywhere now so enjoy your music. It is one of the few ways you can express yourself in the modern day without causing too much of a stir.
