Yeah I know what you mean. There's been a stranglehold on this part of the forum lately, leaving an awkward "daddy just slapped mommy at the dinner table" kind of atmosphere. So I think people are losing an desire/incentive to post.

I think they are, just... different ones. I know I personally spend about half of my forum time on Reddit now, only because there's less restrictions on subject matter. People can be more open, honest, and human.

Every thread on the first page was posted in today, there's no webs, just different people than who you're used to seeing.

I think the forums changed too. Most discussions are not as warm as they previously were.
There are more attacking posts and posts of the "I'm different so I can do/say what I want" nature. So conversations die quicker and most people don't even bother posting anymore.

I don't know... back when I first started posting in singles, there was the problem with constant "trolling" and we still had a lot of argumentative threads. Then people got mad and left (who knows why really), and people are still threatening to do the same. I have no idea what is so difficult about this forum since trolling doesn't seem to be the issue anymore.

I agree. Everyone blamed Merry but even after Merry left people still seem to be complaining about something. Maybe I don't read enough posts to know, but I have no idea what this whole 'rebellion' thing is. I'm yet to read any mean or unwelcoming posts, so I don't know what everyone's beef is to be honest.

No matter what, people are always going to say that the golden age of anything was years ago, no matter what it is. It's just human nature and denial.

Hey, BFP. Good to see you back!

Lots of the old posters that were here when you were are either married now or have moved to another forum. Some of them are still here, like myself and a few others. We have a good crowd here aside from the occasional disruptive ones, but over all it's good.

When I came back after about a year of being gone I noticed how different it was and it took some getting used to, but that's with any forum. In any case I hope you choose to stick around.

Wasn't Going Merry a sock of a sock of a sock? I'm pretty sure she posted in GT a lot over the years under different names, although she was always kind of obvious because of the anime avatars and what not.

^Yep. I know people thought she was trolling, but I think she just had a very misunderstood sense of humor, and somewhat peculiar beliefs... and a few other quirks. Still, I think she was a fun poster, but extreme to the point that she could make you either love or hate her.

I don't really care who or what Going Merry was, all I know is I enjoyed that account's company.

She scared a lot of the self righteous people away too, lol.
